Where the classic 1460 style was being used by mailmen, union workers, and factory workers, it soon became popular among the masses. The 1460 continues to thrive, symbolizing individualism, originality, and taps into a individual's unique style who's willing to make that bold statement.
Dr. Martens doesn't think of itself as a "shoe" brand, but rather a way of thinking, a self-expression if you must. Popularly known as Doc Martens, they allow you to feel free to rock your grunge shorts, spike up your hair to the heavens, show off your body art, whatever floats your boat. So whether you call them Dr. Martens, Doc Martens or just Docs there are no limits to your creativity.

Love these boots and get compliments every time I wear them. They are comfortable and classic. I am a size 8 and according to their size chart I should order a UK 6. They were too big, I had to order a full size smaller and they are perfect.

Dr. Martens are crap. Every pair that I have ever owned has fallen apart within six months. I have sworn that I will never buy another pair. They are cheaply made and a waste of money.

Definitely a half-size to a full-size smaller in fit than other Dr Marten's, particularly in width. Also, no insole liner. What's up with that? This is not a dress shoe, I want some cushion on the inside the other Dr. M's I've bought have that.

For my foot, which is wide in the toe area and narrow in the heel, these boots felt just right in the toe area but too wide in the heel. I had to buy heel grips. I have not had them long enough to know if this is working. But I think it will. I have rarely have to buy heel grips for shoes/boots so this is a wider fitting heel than normal. Also, I am typically a size 8½/9 womens US. But that had me in a size EU40 and that is not right. I am always a size EU39. So pay attention to the EU size and not the US size conversion.
I'd also recommend: fly london, fluevog, converse, camper

I was disappointed. The first wearing I got blisters on the heel which is to be expected. However, upon the second time wearing them the buckle became detached from the shoe. Zappos resolved the problem promptly and at no charge to me. I am wearing them right now, they are comfortable (even for a wider foot), waterproof, which makes them wearable in winter, and ruggedly stylish.
I'd also recommend: keens, birkenstocks, timberlands
