The style is great, perfect matches what I was looking for. Understated, all black. Awesome. But that is entirely subjective, either you like it or you don't. Unfortunately, the material used on the uppers is garbage. It is a weird synthetic plastic material. It is stiff, no padding, and just looks like Wal-Mart quality. It really dug into my ankles. Good leather will flex and conform. This stuff just digs, and it just gives the overall vibe that it will not last very long. I want something that is comfortable and durable. If they made these out of real leather (like my past experiences with Dr Martens, admittedly it has been a few years), I would gladly pay twice the price. I'd rather pay twice as much for quality that lasts 3 times as long, and is also more comfortable. Also what is up with no half sizes? Their 11 is too big and the 10 is too small.

These shoes are terribly uncomfortable but, I would not compare the quality to Walmart! Walmart saves me money so me and my family can live better!

I put in an insole and these men's boots fit my wide, aging feet perfectly. Seem on high instep not great tho. Had to roll up jeans for a Clockwork Orange look to make them really work, but that's part of their charm. Good buy for the price. There's a bit of a break in period, like for all Doc's.

About Dr. Martens
Where the classic 1460 style was being used by mailmen, union workers, and factory workers, it soon became popular among the masses. The 1460 continues to thrive, symbolizing individualism, originality, and taps into a individual's unique style who's willing to make that bold statement.
Dr. Martens doesn't think of itself as a "shoe" brand, but rather a way of thinking, a self-expression if you must. Popularly known as Doc Martens, they allow you to feel free to rock your grunge shorts, spike up your hair to the heavens, showoff your body art, whatever floats your boat. So whether you call them Dr. Martens, Doc Martens or just Docs there are no limits to your creativity.

I have been a loyal customer of Dr. Martens for over 20 years. I purchased these shoes based on my past experience with Doc's. I was thoroughly disappointed when they arrived. They were as stiff as a board and seemed to made of some space age polymer, not the quality leather you would expect from a shoe of this price! It was very clear that my feet and ankles would break in long before the shoes would. The laces and eyelets are placed in such a way that the shoe is tied about an inch below the collar. As such, it cinches around the ankle and is oddly loose at the top, leaving your heels to slide up and down in the shoes. Not pleasant. I am sad to say that Dr. Martens has finally succumbed to mediocrity. I do not recommend these shoes. Zappos did a fine job with both sale and return transactions. Quick and easy!

After five foot surgeries, I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes that don't pinch my toes or dig in around the heels or ankles. Doc Marten is a brand that I can purchase knowing that they will be comfortable. The Manton style is a little plain, but I was looking for something in black I could wear mostly with jeans. These look great, fit comfortably, and don't have my feet complaining after a long day. I would recommend these highly.

Great ankle boot! Be warned, it is a shoe that needs breaking in, but it's worth it to do so! The Dr. Marten's quality is still there, and they're great if you're on your feet all day (I'm a hairdresser).

Very nice pair of shoes for casual wear or even at work too. A little stiff and needs some break-in time, but overall great quality Doc Martens.

The only reason I wear these shoes twice a week is because they look so sweet. I wear them with really thick hiking socks so my feet don't get destroyed.
Brands I'd also recommend: Clarks
