Where the classic 1460 style was being used by mailmen, union workers, and factory workers, it soon became popular among the masses. The 1460 continues to thrive, symbolizing individualism, originality, and taps into a individual's unique style who's willing to make that bold statement.
Dr. Martens doesn't think of itself as a "shoe" brand, but rather a way of thinking, a self-expression if you must. Popularly known as Doc Martens, they allow you to feel free to rock your grunge shorts, spike up your hair to the heavens, show off your body art, whatever floats your boat. So whether you call them Dr. Martens, Doc Martens or just Docs there are no limits to your creativity.

These boots are awesome. Super cool looking, tough, versatile. The leather scuffs up easily, in a good way, by design, and they work with a lot of different looks. I coincidentally got them just as I started dating a great girl who says "they look even better every time I see you," bonus. (But it's most important to just be yourself.) They broke in so nicely, after only a couple weeks of regular wear. I have sensitive feet and I now wear these almost every day, and have even worn them to walk around in the city all day and night. They run a full size too large for US Men's sizes, like most Doc Martens. I ordered a 10 and I normally wear an 11. It seems like the US Women's sizes are even further off.

Just got these, and they are awesome. I was looking for a something with a little bit of style and not too bulky so I can wear them to work and these fit the bill since once the pants are to the ankle they look like shoes, not boots. I stupidly listened to the other reviews and ordered small the first time, but I found these shoes do fit true to size. I am a US 9 in many other popular brands and these fit just like the rest. I think the other reviewers don't know what size they really are.
I'd also recommend: Cole Haan

These boots are really comfortable. They're more of a dark grey than a black but they look sharp. The waxed exterior breaks in quickly, while offering the ability to rub away scuff marks. The trademark yellow stitching is under the boot, not around the top edge.
Pretty awesome boots. They're really comfortable. They fit just like the 1460 ones, I'm 8.5US for almost every shoe but I had to buy 7UK on these and still felt a little big, but it's okay. Worth the money.

These were a replacement for the Pier. After a very uncomplicated and pleasant conversation with Zappos Customer Support, I got these big ol' buttkickers in two days. The upper fades quick but with a good buffing they look good as new, if not better with some wear. I started riding a motorized scooter after I got them and I don't know how I could look more posh.
