Online, I liked the low-profile of this shoe, but in person it was dull. It doesn't look like a Dr. Martens shoe. Without the contrast stitching or chunky sole, it looks like an average, mens dress shoe. I returned it for a Dr. Martens 1461.
Brands I'd also recommend: Seibel, Frye

I love the way these look. I initially ordered them in the same size as another pair of Doc Martens I had but they were too big. Then I ordered a size down (my usual size) and they fit well. However, they are not at all comfortable. I keep convincing myself that they'll break in but it's not clear if that will happen. Currently, the stiffness of the leather and the heel makes them very hard to wear for long periods of time. I'm holding on to hope that they'll soften up over time since they're just so beautiful!

I was looking for shoes that were durable, handled well in snow, were work appropriate but also had personality. Overall these hit the mark pretty well. I like the lower profile sole, and they have a distinct Dr. Marten look even despite their lack of signature stitching. They do run big - I wear a size 9 (7 UK) but had to return and order a size 8.

Fantastic shoe of great quality. Previous shoes by Dr. Martens have lasted me 20+ years with constant use. Shipping from Zappos was super quick!
