Amazing! This is the first pair of Docs I've ever owned and I'm now hooked on the brand. Break in time was minimal and the more I beat them up, the more character they're getting. These are great everyday boots. I did add Dr. Scholls work boot insoles but this for me because I have no arches. Otherwise the boots are perfect!

I get these bad-boys tomorrow and I can't wait to wear them around my college campus, I also cant wait for the cold to get here in my part of the world so I can wear them and they'll keep me warm. I love how these boots are steel toe and are made by legendary boot makers Dr. Martens. Words can't express how happy I am with Zappos (they gave me free next day delivery) because I am part of the VIP thing(y). I love you Zappos and will continue to buy from you.

Really cool looking and comfortable boots. I love everything about these Docs. I ordered a Doc Martens insoles for these as well. They are still decent in comfort to wear without insoles but I decided to spoil myself. You can get them right here on Zappos. You can also buy Doc Marten balsam for your boots too. I also put some new shoelaces on these because I wanted something really sturdy. I wish there were burgundy rub-offs here at Zappos just like in the video. I always loved DMs and always will because of their superior looks and quality. Highly recommended! A bit pricey but these can literally last years!

I've been wearing this style longer than I care to admit. They break in quickly, and take a "spit shine" like no other boot (even better than my steel toe boots in the Air Force!). With regular applications of wonder balsam, these boots easily last 5+ years, making them an incomparable bargain. Docs for life!

True to size and true to width. Tounge does tend to go to the side. Break in time is fairly short. Overall good boot.

About Dr. Martens
Where the classic 1460 style was being used by mailmen, union workers, and factory workers, it soon became popular among the masses. The 1460 continues to thrive, symbolizing individualism, originality, and taps into a individual's unique style who's willing to make that bold statement.
Dr. Martens doesn't think of itself as a "shoe" brand, but rather a way of thinking, a self-expression if you must. Popularly known as Doc Martens, they allow you to feel free to rock your grunge shorts, spike up your hair to the heavens, showoff your body art, whatever floats your boat. So whether you call them Dr. Martens, Doc Martens or just Docs there are no limits to your creativity.

I love these boots! They last forever. I have had three pairs in the last ten years. The only reason I replaced them was because I turned the first two pairs into art projects! I painted my first pair and I still wear them today. If I took better care of the leather, these boots would outlast me!

I go to a tech school that requires steel toe boots and these are awesome. I love Docs anyway but these are comfortable and look good anywhere. Zappos bumped my shipping up to priority, and was amazed at how fast they shipped! Zappos is my new favorite place, hands down.

Got these for my son for Christmas. The first pair were too big. Reordered one size down Wednesday evening. They arrived Thursday afternoon!! Amazing customer service from Zappos. And my son loves his boots. Less than a week to break in. He did put in some gel insoles for a little more cushioning. We live in western N.Y. and are having temps. in the teens and lots of snow, but my son's feet are warm and dry.Now my daughter wants a pair too!

Break in time required. Ouch! for 2 weeks. My Doc Martens let people know that there are better boots than Timberland out there.

All I can say is that I have owned the same pair of these boots since 2002. I usually wear them all fall, winter and spring and only shed them in the summer for sandals.

Great looking and great wearing boots! Granted, you have to man up for the first week or so of wearing these to break them in but after that they feel like slippers. Couldn\'t be happier with these.

As a Dr. Martens fan boy I've been wearing some variety of their steel toes for over a decade now. Size 9 has been my standard fare for the duration but these felt a full size larger than any prior pairs I have. I even went back through my closet and compared them sole to sole with Doc's going all the way back to the days of double-stitched soles...these are without a doubt longer than any of my prior ones. Once I endure the break-in no doubt I'll be less annoyed.

Great boots. Wear ‘em to shows all the time. Been to the troc with em about 8 times, electric factory 4 times, right in the crowd, them stepping on them. Easy to shine back up. Don’t even scratch!!! Order one size lower. UK size is bigger than US sizes!

They are quite comfortable, however, if you are prone to foot problems, you may want to try orthotics with them as they are designed somewhat old school with just a leather footbed, which I personally love about them. I was originally concerned about other reviewers saying that they were really hard to break in, but compared to my pair of Danner Acadias break in which I thought would actually result in the amputation of both of my feet, these boots surprisingly felt like a pair of sneakers right out of the box. Basically if you want a pair of aggressively cool looking boots that will be very comfortable these are the boots for you, just be careful of the sizing. I ordered my standard size of 12US which all of my previous docs are, and had to use the outstanding Zappos return and exchange service for a pair in size 13.
Brands I'd also recommend: Danner, Chippewa, Caterpillar

I was looking for a pair of boots to replace my 8841s. After looking through many other steel tow ankle boots I found these. This is a good boot overall. My only complaint is having no insole the boots get a little uncomfortable after a few hours of wearing.

I bought the black leather version of this shoe, and while I've only had them for about a month, my thoughts so far have been very positive. Very solidly built, they've handled what I've put them through so far with ease. I'm becoming a big fan of how far they go up on the leg, which seems to have been good for standing up for long periods of time. The steel toes are excellent, as well. My only real issue with them is that they occasionally feel a little tight in some places, but that's mostly lacing issues that can be easily fixed.

Great boots. These boots are FANTASTIC! Black soles that aren't just lines across, thick thick heel and sole, very durable, and amazing boot. BUY THESE NOW!!!! I bought them from Zappos about 2.5 years ago and I had NO complaints. The 1st pair I received was too big, but Zappos replaced them within 2 days. They kind of stretch a little bit from breaking in which made them get a little bigger; plus I lost lots of weight so they got rather roomy around my feet. They do run a size or so bigger than you'd expect so try a size smaller. After a couple years the leather ripped where the upper and lower parts meet (this is why I prefer "lace-to-toe" designs). There is absolutely NO padding in them except for under the heel. However, they are very very comfy and easy to break in. I just recently had to stop wearing mine because the sole spilt all the way through. I think it's because they ended up so big on my feet, otherwise the soles didn't wear down to holes or anything. I wore these all the time for long periods of time, sometimes for days non-stop, they almost become one with your feet. The only thing better is my 1st pair of Dr. Martens (Industrial #8855) which are still going strong after 4 years, I also got them from Zappos and they're lace-to-toe and perfect (except for some weird plastic loops at the top and the worthless "D"-ring eyes). All in all, these boots are great for hiking, walking, working (not safety rated), kickin’ butt, or what ever else you do. The soles (on mine at least) didn't mark anything until about 2 years of wearing them. I miss wearing them, I'm actually planning on buying a few more pairs. I HIGHLY recommend them to all.
Brands I'd also recommend: ANY DOCS. Their INDUSRIAL line is high quality.
