These boots look great, but like all Dr. Martens are very heavy. They felt pretty comfortable for me, but I had to return them because the back of the boot would rub the back of my leg right at the top of my Achilles tendon/bottom of my calf and was very irritating. Maybe after breaking it in it would feel better but I do not have the patience. They fit a half to full size smaller. I normally wear an 11 but ordered a 10 and it fit perfectly. Nice wide toe box. Wear thick socks as with any pull on boots, there is a little for your foot to move around in these shoes.

I bought a pair of these boots when I visited London, England in 1999. I wore them as I toured London and it was extremely painful but after they were broken in... they were the best pair of boots I've ever owned. I wore them regularly for 6 years. After 6 years they still looked great but the support was gone. If you don't mind breaking them in... I definitely recommend these boots.

The boots seem to be true to size, my feet are a little wider than medium and they fit in these boots comfortably. There is no stitching that I can see on these boots, I don't know what that means in terms of longevity, I have heard that Doc Martens' quality has decreased in recent years but since I have just gotten these I can only say that my old Docs (14 years old and still going strong) led me to buy again from this brand. Also, Zappos shipped them overnight even though I didn't pay for that. Good job Zappos, best shopping experience on the internet.

Very stiff and difficult to break in. However, they are worth the effort. I love the style and have both black and brown. They will last years. Docs don't have 1/2 sizes and I'm usually an 8.5 but the 9 fits fine so perhaps they run a bit snug.

About Dr. Martens
Where the classic 1460 style was being used by mailmen, union workers, and factory workers, it soon became popular among the masses. The 1460 continues to thrive, symbolizing individualism, originality, and taps into a individual's unique style who's willing to make that bold statement.
Dr. Martens doesn't think of itself as a "shoe" brand, but rather a way of thinking, a self-expression if you must. Popularly known as Doc Martens, they allow you to feel free to rock your grunge shorts, spike up your hair to the heavens, showoff your body art, whatever floats your boat. So whether you call them Dr. Martens, Doc Martens or just Docs there are no limits to your creativity.

These are the best shoes for comfort at work. I am seven months pregnant, and I really needed shoes to slip on and give me comfort. My last pair of Dr. Martens are still around and in good shape, even at four years old! They actually look better with age. You will never wear through the sole. They only come in whole sizes, so I definitely felt that they were a bit too big in the beginning. Since it is winter, I wear a thin pair of high socks and an ankle sock on top. The size below was entirely too small.

My boyfriend wears a size 16/17 shoe, so finding them for him is not an easy task. I searched all over online to find him a specific type of black boot that he so desperately needed, and as soon as I came across Zappos.com, my search was over! Not only did y'all have boots in his size, but you had the exact style, and the brand, which he loves but can never find in his size. Needless to say, Christmas morning he was very pleasantly surprised when he opened his gift.

I usually wear a mens 10.5. I have two pairs of Dr. Martins Orson shoes that are US mens 9. They fit perfectly and are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn...so I ordered these in the same size. Wrong...need to go up a size.

I really like these boots. I wear a size 15 in Nike and 13 in Allen Edmonds, and a 14 fit me very well. I also have wide feet, and these boots felt comfortable. My only complaint is the DM logo on the heel quarter.

Shoes came in quickly and fit well. They were a little narrow, but after wearing them for a couple of days they loosened up and felt great. I wear them for 12 hours a day and have no issues with comfortability or construction.

Last (size) consistent with quality shoes. If Doc's came in half sizes it would be ideal. Very comfortable with good elastic gore that allows easy on & off while keeping (so far) a snug fit (unlike others that are either too tight to get into or too sloppy to walk in). The brand makes a difference. Better quality than I expected when I first saw the source. (That large country that seems to make just about everything.)
