These shoes are nice to look at, but not very functional or comfortable. Mine have lasted at about 4 years. However, the leather is not of good quality. It cracked and tore at the stitching, especially at the heel. Plus, I do not like how small the treads/grooves are on the bottom of the shoe. Mine wore down quickly. I prefer the thick, normal (chunky) boot sole.

Look no further!!! Best Dr. Martens shoe ever! A year ago I decided it was time to let loose of my Dr. Marten's collection (yes, I am aware that it was a big mistake), some being 20 years old. This is the only new pair out of five recently purchased that felt true straight out of the box. As I have aged my feet have become wider. I also suffer from hammer-toe. No problems with this shoe. Many complain about the new made in China versions. I also purchased a pair of vintage made in the UK ten holes and must say these are better. Complaints of inferior leather are ridiculous to me. While the leather appears to be the same "thickness", the new model is softer and immediately forms to the foot. If you have problems finding classic shoes because of a wide foot or suffer from hammer-toe, BUY THESE SHOES. I also cannot say enough about ZAPPOS. All five recently purchased pairs came from ZAPPOS. Lightning fast-free-next day delivery and the ultimate in costumer service. VIVA ZAPPOS!

Classic Old School - This shoe is the classic old school shoe. I've been wearing Docs for nearly 20 years now, and that is b/c they are what they are...these are not slippers, so don't think you are buying them for comfort. They can be a little stiff at first but the more you wear them, the more you will love them!! Docs are the original!!! What shoe companies have always tried to be, but never quite got it...

Back to Docs - Haven't worn a pair of Docs since I was a teenager, but got these based on looks and reviews here. I am not disappointed. I wear a size 13, and most shoes look ridiculous at that scale - these are perfect. Plus, I ordered on a Saturday afternoon and got them on Monday morning FOR FREE...can't beat that!

Classics never die - Some people say that these shoes are "clownish", but I disagree. I like a shoe that has a larger toe. Smaller, or pointed toes make my feet look ridiculous. I LOVE the look of these shoes. They're old school Dr. Martens, which means... you HAVE to wear them in. They aren't going to feel great day one, but give them a couple weeks and stick it out, and they will be some of the most comfortable shoes you've ever worn. If you're a half size, go up a size and get a good insole to make up the difference. Works like a charm.

One of the most respected and well-know icons in the world, Dr. Martens' boots, shoes, work shoes, and sandals continue to set the standard for durability, comfort and fashion. Dr. Martens's trademark look and quality construction has been recognized world-wide since 1960.

Where the classic 1460 style was being used by mailmen, union workers, and factory workers, it soon became popular among the masses. The 1460 continues to thrive, symbolizing individualism, originality, and taps into a individual's unique style who's willing to make that bold statement.

Dr. Martens doesn't think of itself as a "shoe" brand, but rather a way of thinking, a self-expression if you must. Popularly known as Doc Martens, they allow you to feel free to rock your grunge shorts, spike up your hair to the heavens, showoff your body art, whatever floats your boat. So whether you call them Dr. Martens, Doc Martens or just Docs there are no limits to your creativity.

Old school style, ultra uncomfortable - I've been wearing Docs for over 15 years and these were the first steel-toes I bought from them. While I swear by Docs, these things were horrifyingly uncomfortable. I wore them for about a month before giving up. They just didn't break in. Another thing that annoyed me was that the inside heel was suede so the shoe didn't move when I walked and I got mad blisters. All other Docs have smooth leather inside and are super comfy. Not so with this style. No Bueno.

Great Shoe!!!! I bought these shoes for my boyfriend (very peaky). He LOVES them. He said they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever had. The first weekend he had them we went away to New York for the weekend - -a lot of walking - - he said they were very comfortable - no problems breaking them in. Everyone keeps giving he compliments on how great they look.

ZAPPOS does the BEST JOB getting you the best shoes the fastest. But these new Dr. Martens aren't what they used to be when the company was smaller. They just don’t hold up like they used to, For the record the old soles were way better.

Warning - not a safety shoe! On the inside of the shoe is a label reading; "NON-SAFETY FOOTWEAR". The tag attached to the shoe goes on to warn you again that they are not safety shoes. Do not assume that because they have a steel toe they are a safety shoe. They are not ANSI rated and if you are required by your employer, as I am, to wear ANSI rated safety shoes on the job, these are not what you need. I didn't think they were that comfortable either, but in fairness, I am not keeping them long enough to break them in. If for some reason you just want a heavy non-safety shoe with a steel toe and "clownish" looking toe, these may be just what you're looking for. Why not just buy the same thing without the steel toe? Zappos is the best place online to get shoes, with their fast shipping and easy return policy. So thanks to Zappos but these shoes will have to go back.

Fast shipping and worth the price. My last pair lasted me three years, not expensive at all when you do the math. Yes, they look a little like clown shoes, but I got used to it and am on my third set now. I wear them to work and even dancing - I wear slacks or jeans, so it works. I love the steel toe because it does not get wrinkled over time. I had to replace my last pair as the sole and leather were getting cracked. The sole was starting to come off and the stitching was coming out - a bit disappointing, but I guess that’s what happens when you wear the same pair of shoes every single day. It does take awhile to get used to a new pair, but once they are broken in, I just leave them tied all the time and slip them on when I am ready to go. I've tried other Docs, but these are the most comfortable and my most favorite. My mother hates my shoes. She says they look too masculine, but my husband thinks they look good on me and I like what I like. I'm sticking with these Docs.

Yes, they're Doc's but... They kinda bulge in the front top portion of the shoe. My wife joked it looked "clownish." The back part of the shoe gave me blisters on the back of my ankles...Thought these would be as comfortable as my previous pairs, but I was wrong. Will keep them as a back up shoe, though.

A Practical, Fashionable Shoe - My 1st pair of Docs, the most expensive shoes I've owned, and I regret neither. They feel good and look great. Felt slightly longer than marked, but the width is perfect (it may just be the reinforced toe). Wear thick socks while breaking them in - the unpadded collar will chafe your heel. And might as well pick up the Dr. Marten Wonder Balsam while you're at it, to protect the leather, which is nice.

1925 series DM's - My third pair in the last 15 yrs. Really glad Dr. Martens are still puttin this particular model out in the market. This and the 1919 model is the best. Quality wise though, it's gone down. Doesn’t look as sleek as the older 1925 models, the toe caps don’t seem as wide as they used to, but hey, to refuse it, I cannot...these shoes are way too cool, since yesterday, today and tomorrow. Purchasing it from Zappos was very prompt and pleasant. Excellent service.

Dr. Martens 1925 Series - I bought these for my Husband and He ABSOLUTELY LOVES them! He says "They're COMFORTABLE and DURABLE yet very STYLISH..." HOPEFULLY the MORE GREAT shoes I get for him, the MORE he'll understand and "allow" my own "shoe f‏etish" !!!!! ;) (HERE'S HOPING...lol) ANYWAYS! I have a few pairs of DR. Martens myself and MANY, MANY years later, they STILL look new and are STILL super comfortable! You JUST CAN'T GO WRONG with DOCs, No matter what you want to use them for (style/work/etc.)!

Doc Martens last a long time! Awesome shoes. They’ll never fall apart or wear a hole! My last pair of green 7 eye boots lasted until I outgrew them. Well worth the money and leather too!

How Do You Do It? Ok, the shoes are fantastic. I had to wear two pairs of socks for a week to break them in, but they really are great. The think that is amazing to me is that I ordered them at 7PM on a Thursday night. On 3:45PM the next day, my doorbell rings and it's MY SHOES! Less than 24 hours later you get them to me. What's up with that! How do you do that? Simply amazing service and you have a customer for life with service like that. Truly rare in this day and age. Kudos!

A Great Pair of Shoes - When I was much younger I wore DM's as they seemed to be the only shoe that I wouldn't destroy in the span of a couple of months, plus they're quite comfy. Now that I am much older, I unfortunately do the same to my 'business casual' shoes. I finally got the bright idea to go back and find a pair of DM's. The 1925's fit the bill perfectly. A very classic look and extremely comfortable. I was concerned buying online, but Zappos made it much easier knowing I could return. The shoes arrived and after about 2 days of break in (with only some mild chafing around the lower outside of my ankle) the shoes were beautifully broken in and are SUPER comfortable (much more so than ANY of the shoes I've been wearing lately, such as the Kenneth Cole's, etc). These shoes are an exceptional value and should hold up for a good, long time!

6 Eye steel toe Doc Martens; black! These are the best shoes! Docs last for years and years! They are leather! They’ll never fall apart or wear a hole in the bottom! My second pair! My last were 7 Eye steel toe, green! The only reason I needed new 1’s was that I outgrew them! It took me a whole year just to break them in! I’ll never wear anything else other than Doc Martens! Comfortable too!

Great steel toe shoes - The Dr. Martens 1925 series steel toe shoe is by far one of the most comfortable work shoes I've owned over the years and looks great too. There was no break in time as I have read in some reviews, I literally put them on out of the box, got on a plane and spent the next 3 days wearing them for work.

This is a great shoe, and it's the most comfortable of its kind. It's not quite as comfortable as I remember from my youth, but still more than other, similar shoes. Another thing I noticed, and this may contribute to slight decline in comfort, was that the shoes don't bounce anymore. They used to bounce like a rubber ball, when dropped on the soles of the heel or toe. Even with that, I would still buy another pair as soon as these wear out! They are the best!
