I bought these shoes for my son. He is in 11th grade and attends a CTEC program for culinary and food service. I personally love Docs for their quality and comfort so I decided to try the work shoes for him. They did not disappoint me! The quality is beautiful and the padding and flexible soles make them very comfortable when spending hours on your feet. My son has mild sensory issues about how shoes feel on his feet, but he has been happy with these since the first time he put them on. The only problem I have is that they have a steel toe and that was not mentioned in the description. Had I known it, I probably would have bought something without the steel toe, but my son has no problem with it. The smooth leather is easy to keep clean and there are not a lot of seams to trap gunk. In my opinion, the shoe runs one size larger. My son wears a size 14 but I had to exchange the US 14's for a US 13. This brings me to customer service. Zappos has the best customer service I have ever dealt with. I called to order a size 13 because I did not want to wait for the 14's to ship back in order to make an exchange. My son needed them ASAP. The CSR sent me the 13's without charge, trusting I would send the 14's back. I called just after 5:00 pm and she apologized that she could not get them to me the next day, but the day after. I do not know how they did it, but I had those shoes early the next afternoon. Since my son wears such a large size we can no longer find shoes in stores. Zappos is now our place to shop.
