This bag is beautiful. Purchased it for my birthday.Fits my laptop, Nook, and textbook. If I need more room just remove the zipper part. Only worry is that I won't be able to keep it clean since this will be an everyday bag.
Brands I'd also recommend: Marc Jacobs

D&B is my favorite. I wanted to replace my briefcase with a tote, and this is perfect! Big enough for my lunch, my calender, my kindle, umbrella and still fits securely over my shoulder. Bag weighs very little empty, and if you are a stuffer like I am, you know that is important. Well made. I like the zipper closure for security riding the train, but you can unsnap it, remove the zipper assembly, and leave the bag an open tote it you want.
Brands I'd also recommend: Any D&B!

OK, I treated myself for my birthday. This is my first D&B bag and I love it! When it came I was worried that wouldn't be able to keep it clean (black canvas). It seems to be treated because the day I got caught in the rain it beaded up on the bag. Fits my 12 inch laptop, one text book, nook and bottle of water. It's not huge but good for an everyday bag. Definitely want the leather one now! Great bag!

This is a nice-looking bag, but too small for my laptop (which is 15.6 inches at its widest point) to go in and out easily. Also, I felt that it was too expensive to justify for a canvas bag. I did love the look and the interior color, though.
