I have had the coffee maker for about a month and its great. It is quite easy to use - despite the confusing directions and makes a great espresso (nice crema). The milk foam works great to make a cappuccino. The unit heats up in a few minutes and produces plenty of steam to heat and foam the milk. It is much better than my previous espresso maker in this function. A few small critiques. There is not a lot of space between the end of the steam wand and the counter so my solution is to place the unit near the counter edge and it makes the whole process much easier. The distance between the bottom of the coffee basket and the tray is a little short. I can fit most of my mugs under, if I tip them slightly. You must manually stop the water flow when making am espresso. My old unit had two buttons - one for a single shot and one for a double so the amount of water was fully automated. I quickly learned how to judge the appropriate level to switch the flow off. Overall, I am very pleased with the unit and highly recommend it.

This Espresso/Cappuccino Machine seemed promising for the price, but I have found over time that you get what you pay for. It makes disappointing espresso and the steamer does not produce adequate foam. It is also difficult to screw on after cleaning.

It works for me! Upside: it's easy to use. Downside: there is no auto shut off when dispensing the coffee, so you have to judge for yourself to get the right amount and strength of espresso. (1 star for comfort because I don't think I would like to wear it or sit on it!)

This was a great purchase for me. When my illy Francis Francis X8 died after two years, I needed a new machine, and the DeLonghi really has exceeded my expectations.
