From padded to thin - My podiatrist suggested I start wearing these. I had been wearing some padded ones reasoning that those would feel better on my feet because I've upped my mileage and my feet had been hurting. He said to look at the elite marathon runners, they all wear thin socks and that is for a reason. The padding does not help, it actually hinders comfort. Reluctantly, I tried these on some runs and he was right, much better! I got just white for running, the others look like cycling socks, but whatever they look like they felt great. They kept my feet dry on long (15 mile) runs, which translates to warm in winter and cool in the summer. Good for running and cycling.

Even if you don't run . . . I do not run, yet I spent a lot of time on this website looking for a black, thin sock that would be good for pounding walks of 5 miles or so on the streets of Manhattan, keeping my feet dry and blister-free. Oh, and the sock needed to fit into casual shoes that are not sneakers. I believe that I've found that sock in these DeFeet AirEator's. The black ones do have white logos on the cuff and the edge of the sole of the foot, but the logos don't show with long pants, even with my Allrounder Mallow (maryjane's). The sock is thin, yet protective and stays in place. In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't yet worn them for all-day treks through Manhattan, so the final test is yet to come. However, I'm optimistic they'll fit the bill.

DeFeets Are Fabulous - I bought these socks not because I'm an athlete, but because I have wide feet and thick ankles that are prone to swelling. They are non-binding and very comfortable. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone with foot issues.

Crazy! I am crazy about DeFeet AirEator socks! I am crazy about the way they never move or bunch up. I am crazy about their cool designs. I went crazy when the store in my town stopped selling them. I go crazy looking for them everywhere I travel when visiting different cities. I would make me less crazy if you could provide me with the store locations of the best walking/running sock on the market. I also loved some of the designs with the American flag. I can not find any of the older flag socks so I am very protective of the 2 pair I still own with that logo. What an adorable little slipper for the winter months to come. It is a very flat slipper though, but that is o.k. for me. I picked up mine in the pink hound color. This is the first Reef shoe I have ever bought before, and they are a decent price too.

I wear a 12.5 4E running shoe and the XL fits me well. Not too tight, not too loose. Really they are just right. However because of the style of sock and material I expect they would fit a narrow foot as well. Nice and thin and very breathable.

These fit very well. Love that they don't slip. I've washed them a couple of times, they still look and feel great. As usual, delivery was fast and Zappos service was outstanding. Wish I could buy everything from Zappos.

I love these socks. I usually get sweaty feet when I work out but these socks kept my feet cool. The bottom of the socks are very comfortable and I highly recommend them.

I use these socks for dress socks. Love 'em - keeps your feet cool and comfortable. Wicks away sweat. I bought some white ones to wear casually. Love 'em. Will buy more in future.

When I first got these socks, they didn\'t feel very soft, especially compared to the WrightSock ones I have worn in the past. But, once I put them on and wore them for a while, I was very impressed. They have a good cushioning effect, and keep your feet dry. \r\n\r\nZappos service is beyond great! They carry large sizes in socks, which are very hard to find, and the shipping is lightning fast. Great customer service!

The DeFeet socks are so comfortable. I walk 6 miles a day and these socks are the best I have ever purchased. These socks are not bulky in the shoe and are light and airy. When I found these socks at Zappos, they were even on sale and they were shipped with no charge!

Great sock for running and thin enough for most shoes, but protect against blisters, etc. The white ones get dingy after a few washes, but otherwise wear and feel great.

Great cycling socks! I also use them for running. Very thin and lightweight, but durable.
