I measure 17" in my calf. These boots didn't fit until I loosened the tie in the back. They fit snuggly now but won't go over my skinny jeans. I'm thinking of returning them. If I don't I will wear them with skirts and tights.

This boot is awesome. The price is well worth it, esp if you have a hard to fit foot or wider calf. I have searched all over for a boot that accommodates my left leg which has healed larger due to an old injury/arthritis and foot/ankle issues. Zappos came to the rescue with their great selections and great service. I found the perfect boot for the special holiday event I will be going to, and I am so happy. Thank you Zappos!

I was so excited when I came home to see my order arrived just one day after placing my order. Then I tried them on. The listed circumference states 19 1/4 inches. I have always had larger calves and was excited to finally find a pair of boots that might possibly fit. Boy was I wrong. These boots didn't; they weren't even in the ballpark to fitting. I tried loosening the back of the boot, but that did nothing. I am returning them today and hoping that one day I'll be able to find a boot that will fit.

This is not a wide calf boot in my book, I have 17 inch calves and these would not even zip up past my ankle. The boot is great quality, absolutely stunning to look at, and has a wonderful interior...but my husband measured the calf many ways and 14 1/4'' is what it measures. There is a lace up section in the back, but even that wouldn't make it work. By no means a extra wide calf boot. I am sad to have to return these beautiful boots. And sadly very hesitant to order again.

These boots work very well with my large calves. There is plenty of room for them plus pants. They are high quality and great looking. I just wish the toe was more pointed but they are very comfortable.

I tried these boots in the size indicated by my measurements, and they fit absolutely perfectly in the foot but were narrow in the calf. I have never had a pair of dress boots I could wear and have always struggled to find Western riding boots to fit my calves. I went up to what I originally assumed would be right. The extra wide and the shaft is perfect. The foot also goes up in width and I find I should have gone down half a size in the foot. Even so I wore them all day at work, on my feet and they were wonderful. The leather is sumptuous and style perfect for me. Thank you, David Tate.

These are beautiful boots, and the slight heel gives them a little lift beyond a completely flat boot. Foot length is true to size, or even a bit generous. I ordered 8.5M. At widest point my calf measures 15 inches. These boots fit perfectly and with wear have even loosened a bit. If you have a calf wider than 15", you should order the wide width.

There must be a misprint in the shaft circumference measurement. These were not even close to fitting a wide calf even with laces loosened. I had to return them!

I am very happy with these boots. They fit well and are very comfortable. I am so thankful to have found Zappos. We have only one wide shoe store in the area and I am unable to find what I want there. The idea of buying my shoes on line seemed strange to me at first but I am totally sold on the idea now. When they said the circumference was 19 1/4... I do believe they made a drastic typo... maybe 16 1/4 but not 19 1/4! Beautiful but beware if you have athletic calves (16 1/2+)! Other than that, I wear an 8 and it fit for shoe size and width (medium) + good arch. Truly disappointed!

I am in love with this boot! I got them in brown, and the leather is gorgeous, great quality, and super soft. I have ridiculously wide calves, so I took the advice of previous reviewers and ordered the boot in 8ww. Since the footbed is much wider than what I usually wear, I need to wear 2 pairs of socks for them to fit comfortably. But its totally worth it! These are the first leather boots I have found that I can wear over my jeans. With the 2 pairs of socks, the boots fit perfectly. Great buy, and worth every penny.

Foot width/size, overall quality, and the color were great. The calf circumference was also plenty wide (in fact, this was the first pair of boots I bought that were actually a true wide calf). However, the ankle of the boot was so tight that I could not get the zipper over my ankle, even without socks on. I was so disappointed that I had to send them back. I will keep searching for stylish wide calf boots, in a wide foot size, that actually fit my entire lower leg.

Love these boots! I have always wanted a pair of calf boots, but couldn't find boots that fit my plus size calves. I have looked at nearly all retail stores and took a chance that these would work, based on the reviews. Couldn't be happier! Just make sure you order the wide width or they will not fit. They do loosen up after a bit, so if they are just a little too tight when you get them, they do loosen up.

I have been searching for a pair of boots to fit my calf and finally found them! The foot/ankle is a little loose but I found with my Dr Scholls and cuffed socks they work just fine.
