In boots, I have the challenge of having slim ankles and heel, slightly muscular calf, high instep and wide foot ball. Tate boots are too big around my heel, ankle and calf, a bit long, but fit my instep and ball nicely. David Tate quality of material and workmanship is superb.

My son 6 years old loves these shoes...he has had these shoes since Sept...they still look great. He wears them almost every day, for 4 months now. And worth every penny we spent. My son has a wide foot and these shoes are so great...If you buy these shoes you will not be sorry.

I practically live in these boots I love them so much! They are probably the most comfortable heeled shoes I have ever owned. It is so nice to have good looking shoes in an extra wide size too. When I bought them, I was worried they would be hard to get on and off, but I have had no issues. I will be getting another pair when mine finally wear out.

I ordered this boot in brown, in Dec. '08. ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! Most comfortable boot I've ever worn...and HEEL for that matter. I just don't wear heels...am 61 year old and can easily live in this puppy! Just tried to order another in brown (don't want to not have a pair, ever) and one in black. Both out in my size. On notify list.

These boots are great with someone who needs a cute boot in a wide width. I thought they were true to size and width, and unlike many other reviewers have said, they're really not that hard to get off. I don't know about other people, but you just give a yank and they come off! Maybe if you have trouble bending down you'd do better with a zip boot, but I think they're comfy and come on/off just fine.

What did we do before there was Zappos? Once again, thanks to customer reviews, I have found a GREAT pair of everyday boots. I have very high arches and wide(ish) feet so I am usually in pain after wearing most high heeled boots/shoes for a few minutes. I was able to wear these immediately and experienced no pain. There is elastic in the upper portion of the boot that aids in putting the boot on and off without the need for a shoe horn. I took the recommendation and ordered the wide, even though my foot size runs medium. No worries! The boots are great and I could not be more pleased. Thank you fellow reviewers and Zappos for introducing me to a new shoe brand!

Excellent for wide feet - These boots are fabulous! I have very wide feet and sometimes extra wides don't fit, but these fit perfectly! They look great with slacks or jeans. I feel like I can wear them all day.
Brands I'd also recommend: Anything David Tate.

Comfortable, stylish, and affordable! I first ordered these in my normal size, a 9 M. They were almost perfect, but felt just a little too snug. So I returned them and got a 9W (since 9.5M was sold out) - the 9W are perfect. These boots, though quite high for an ankle boot, are really easy to put on and take off thanks to the ingenious elastic insets on each side. The toe is a nice hybrid between pointed and squared. The heel height is perfect. Very, very happy with these boots. My third David Tate purchase, and it has become one of my favorite brands.

Nicer than I thought they would be - I was more than pleased with my purchase of these boots. I bought them for a gift to my daughter...she is very difficult to fit. They are a very soft leather and look super sharp! They fit perfect and are of super quality. Kathy, Indiana

Very nice - The boot is very comfortable and can be used to walk around. Not very good heel support (but insoles worked wonders). Looks great with jeans or pants for going out. LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have very narrow feet and have a hard time finding shoes that fit. This shoe is perfect! It's actually quite narrow for a 2A in comparison to many other brands. I'll be sticking with David Tate for quite a while.

Perfect! Just The Perfect Boot! I have a size 13ww foot. I love wearing high heels. To find a boot with a high heel was so difficult. I got onto Zappos.com and saw this boot. I fell in love! It looks great with my jeans and slacks. The fit is perfect. Thank you Zappos for realizing that women with large feet still like wearing high heeled shoes. These boots are fabulous!

It’s a good boot, but... I like this boot, just ok. It’s hard to get on and harder to get it off. I like a boot that zips down the inside.

Nice style for wide feet - I had to go back to work 6 weeks after my pregnancy and my feet were still swollen and wide. I needed a style of shoe that would work with suits or business casual, as well as jeans for weekends. These boots were perfect. I wore a 7.5M before the baby; I ordered an 8WW in this boot. They fit, are very roomy. The heel is a height that can be worn for several hours without pain, but is high enough to flatter the leg and look nice with trousers. The elastic gussets are stretchy - easy to slip on and off but they haven't stretched out. This is a tall boot - comes up to the bottom of the wider part/muscle of my calf.

The perfect heel! Let's face it, I'm short. So a heel that's over 2" really helps. And it's a comfortable heel at that. I downgraded the overall rating a bit because the boots stretched *a lot* which I suppose isn't all that bad, I just added inserts which helped with arch support (I have narrow feet & high arches), but they were much snugger on the first few wears than around wear 4-5. Still, I can walk a long while and dance comfortably in these.
