Beautiful boot, but didn't fit me right. I have 18 1/4 inch calves, and couldn't zip up the last inch. And the stretchy gore with the buckle gathered around the ankle and I couldn't pull up to straighten. Bummed as I've been on a hunt for a wide calf boot.

I am pretty happy with this purchase. My calves are 16.75 inches and so I went with these since majority of the boots out there labeled "wide" really aren't, but these are surprisingly roomy! This is honestly the first pair of boots I have ever found that had extra room in the calf part (which in my mind gives the illusion that I have skinnier legs). The cankle part isn't the greatest but we're definitely getting there!

I bought these in 9½ and have 18½" calves. They were a little snug zipping up but the elastic sides helped. They seem pretty comfortable but my feet seem to be running closer to a 10 these days so I will be exchanging them. I also wear orthotics so the 10s will give me more room. I'm not completely sold on this style but there are not many choices for giant calved girls like me.

This is a beautiful boot with soft and shiny leather. I have orthotics so I had to get it a size larger and wider than normal to accommodate it. The fit is a little large around the top and I have a calf measurement of 18 1/2 inches. This means the boots don't fit under even boot cut pants but I really got them to wear with leggings and skirts. I liked them enough that I wanted to get them in the brown but they are out in my size. That gives me something to look forward to next year.

Great boot! Nice and roomy enough around the calf for jeans. I'm a 6.5 and have a terrible time trying to find a tall boot with a wide enough shaft. These fit the bill.

Just received these boots. They are so pretty, but are huge at the very top. No way to make these work, so I'm returning. I have large calves, which fit perfectly in these boots, but it's the very top of the boots that is so huge. Hmmmm.

Love these boots. They fit great -- not too loose and not too snug. The smell others commented on went away within about five wears. I've wanted a pair of black knee-high boots for a long, long time -- and now I finally found a pair. Love them!

The third pair of 'wide shaft' boots I purchased, and the only ones that fit! These look great, fit perfectly and they stretch a little bit after you wear them a few times, so it gets easier to zip (especially if you're wearing them over pants). They're not the style I preferred initially (I like my boots basic- the less hardware the better), but I've gotten several compliments. The vertical buckle seems to visually elongate the leg. They're also fairly comfortable, though, like almost all my other boots, they do bunch a little at the ankle. Nice quality leather. Very satisfied with my purchase overall.

Normally when I select boots (or shoes for that matter), I have to pick among semi-ugly or just plain pairs given that I was blessed with wide, hobbit feet and thick calves, but this boot broke the pattern. I love them! Not only do the look great, and they are nice quality, they zip up with no extra effort. Bonus- they are a tad loose around the top of my leg (even with fitted jeans), so it makes me feel like a skinny girl. Now to the part that should actually be first on the list- they are actually very comfortable. I walked 3-4 hours in them the first day with no pain or blisters and have been comfortably walking around in them ever since. If you have wide calves and feet, these are the boots for you!

I have never, and I mean never been able to find tall boots that fit my calves and my wide feet before until now! These boots are so comfortable I never want to take them off! I am petite with short legs but extremely muscular/athletic calves measuring at a little over 17 inches and these boots zipped up no problem even over jeans. I also have very short, wide feet as well as a high arch/instep and I ordered a wide in a half size larger than I normally wear and they fit a little big so I could have gotten my normal size but I love them to much to send them back and wait for a new pair! I definitely recommend these awesome boots. :)

I've been in search of a true wide calf boot for a long time and finally found one. I'm not sure what others call the smell, I just think it smells like leather and new shoe. I love this boot and would highly recommend it.

I've always wanted tall boots, but could never find any that would zip over my calves. These are perfect! They even zip up over my thicker jeans! They are comfortable and I've gotten lots of compliments. My only complaint is they are a bit loud when walking.
