The Dansko Kip is a nice looking casual shoe. The texture in the leather makes it a little dressier. I've worn Danskos for years and recently switched to the lace-up styles because I needed a little more width which has done the trick. I found these shoes very comfortable (8 hours on my feet) with no break in time needed. Also, Zappos customer service (both email and on the phone) are exceptional and treat their customers right.

Underfoot it feels great. However, the heel cup is too wide, and does not hug foot, even with double lacing. Needs some extra padding to hold it in place. Shoe is a bit wide.

I could imagine having these shoes for casual wear/working around the house, but I would not wear them to work. They are very comfortable, but not super attractive. They look even frumpier in person than they do in the picture on the website. I've been trying out Danskos with removable footbeds, and I find that I prefer the Kelseys, which are also available on this website. I returned the Kips.

These just arrived so my impression may change after a few days, but I had to comment right away on the comfort and what I perceive to be wider width. I have the Dansko Krista which I purchased due to the much needed rigid sole, but they were like a vise, excruciating to break in .Now the only shoe I can wear. These feel much nicer on my foot right off. They may be a bit big around the back of the foot, I am afraid the heel will be moving around a bit, but overall they feel great. They don't looks as nice in person as they do in the picture, I ordered the brown, but I have to have something so I am not wearing black shoes all summer. The sole looks black in the picture and I am disappointed to see that it too is brown, but darker than the uppers. I need to have a rigid forefoot put on, not sure if they will be able to match the brown, but if so I think these may work.
