Very comfortable! Had read about these shoes as the choice of chefs (and others on their feet all day), and have not been disappointed. I have flat feet, and the arch support in these is the best of any shoe/sneaker I have tried. And they look just like the ones my mom wore in the 1970s.

The Perfect Fit! I am in Culinary school as well as work in catering. I used to wear non-slip work boots because the thought of wearing clogs seemed unmanly, but the long hours on my feet and the hunching over the stove and counters were taking a toll on my knees and back. I reluctantly took the advice of my professors and coworkers and tried on a pair of Dansko clogs at a local shop. What comfort! I have a wide, large foot which can be difficult to find shoes for, but these fit perfectly without my foot slipping or feeling cramped. The shop didn't have the color I needed, so I ordered through Zappos and they arrived within days, even during the week before Christmas. What service and the shoe fit exactly like it did in the shop. These shoes have been awesome and have saved my back and knees!

A good-looking shoe, very comfortable from the start, with or without socks. I'm very pleased. They do run small, though. I needed a full size larger than usual.

Great shoes - I'm a medical student going into surgery and decided to finally spend the money and get quality shoes. I'm on my feet 10-12 hours a day in the OR. These are great shoes, very comfortable. I used to get pain in my calves and my lower back with other shoes which I don't get from these. I was trying to decide between these and the Dansko professionals, but I wanted to be able to slip these on or off. It is difficult to walk backwards in these and sometimes they do feel like they are falling off when walking. But overall I'm happy I chose the Karl over the professional. Zappos is awesome--I ordered the wrong size and the return process couldn't have been easier. Plus they upgraded my shipping to overnight for free both times. A piece of advice--think about buying a size larger and putting in a gel insole because the bottoms of my feet tend to hurt after standing for a long time.

Danskos Karl - For about 4 years now I have been wearing Danskos open back clogs and I love em. They feel great and are so easy and comfortable on your feet. They are almost impossible to wear out. They last and last. If it rains, these are the shoes to wear because of the rubber non skid bottom, and also they help to keep your feet dry. I have 5 pairs they are that good and i'm a guy. Danskos are the best no doubt about it, especially in the comfort zone and looks. If you are a guy definitely give these a try. These will replace almost all your other shoes they are so comfortable and longlasting in wear. I have saved a lot of money wearing these clogs over my good leather shoes which require constant maintance and care. Danskos require very little care. I highly recommend them. My wife and kids also love em.

In the islands with Dansko Karl - I wore my Dansko brown's for 5 years straight. In the Cayman Islands--thru sand and hurricane's hot and hotter. I have 3 pair now and wear them more than my ecco sandals. It's well worth the $$ they just keep on on and on....

Best footwear I've purchased in years. I grew up in Europe through my teenage years, where wearing clogs was quite ordinary and drew little or no attention. As an adult male now living in the US, I found it interesting that wearing clogs conversely lead to comments I didn't welcome so I decided to blend with the culture and stored or threw out my wooden soled clogs. What a mistake - to forgo the comfort and freedom as well compromise healthy feet and back for the sake of vanity. These Dansko clogs are the best footwear I've purchased in 20 years. Much lighter than the wooden soled ones I used to wear and well shaped to the bottom of my feet as well as the overall circumferance (outline) of my foot. I can wiggle my toes and yet the clog remains nicely fitted and does not slip off as I walk. The toe grips that used to be a part of the older designs is not a part of this footbed, but it's not needed to keep the clog on as you walk. There's an airy comfort to wearing the Karl. The size for me is perfect - I'm a US size 11 and the 46 European is a perfect fit. I actually bought a secong pair within a few weeks so that I could alternate daily between the pairs and keep them cleaner and fresh smelling longer. I highly recommend this footwear - especially if you can't stand to wear anything on your feet. They are light but very well made and while providing winter protection, can easily be slipped off under your desk as you work. With socks or no socks, they are a wonderful gift to yourself.

Karl kloseup - I had always heard that Dansko shoes were great for people who walked and stood a lot. They were right on target! The shoes were comfortable from day one. Following site instructions I tried a size 44. The shoe seemed too short, especially with socks, so I tried a 45 and then finally a 46. The third time was the charm! These shoes and a pair of Dansko professionals are going to be my "go to" shoes for everyday wear. Many thanks for the outstanding service during the protracted buying process. Zappos has been the best site I have ever done business with on the web and am most happy to take the time to do this review.

Karl - Great shoe, all leather inside and out. Comfort, support and style. Nice. I found the size to be correct, in fact maybe a touch on the small side. I usually wear a 45, sometimes a 46, depending on the shoe... A 45 in this shoe was clearly too short. The 46 is JUST long enough. So, this may be in contrast to other reviews, but there you have it. Honestly I think the Zappos European conversion scale is a little on the small side. I am Dutch, used to the 40's sizing, and this is simply what I find. The shoe, when you do find your size, is WELL worth the money.

Great shoe! These are great shoes! Comfortable right from the start. I work in a restaurant and am on my feet 7-10 hours a day, 6 days a week. You didn't need to break them in at all. I did need to get used to the heel because I was used to wearing a flatter shoe. Ran small, I wear a womens size 11. I ordered the size 43 and it was perfect.

This is the BEST pair of shoes I have ever bought for work, yes they are a little more expensive than others BUT it is well worth it, they are non-slip and they feel so great on your feet!!! I am on my feet for 12 hours a day at work and my feet don't hurt in these shoes!

Clog Heaven - This is the clog I always wanted. It is so much better than the Swedish wooden ones. I had to go up a full size to acommodate my high arches, but it is a very good fit and I have been wearing them almost constantly after receiving them. Now, if there only were more colors available.....

Dansko Karl runs a little short - I bought a pair of Dansko Karls for friend in Europe. Some of the reviews stated that they ran a bit short. My husband tried them on and indeed they seemed small. If you have a high instep...size up! If you don't have a high instep, I would buy your regular size.

The perfect nursing shoe!!! I have been a nurse for over 5 years now and I have only worn Dansko clogs. The only thing that I dislike about this type of shoe is that they need to be properly broken in prior to starting work. I made the mistake this time of not doing that for work and after working a 12 hour shift my feet were "on fire" however they are awesome now and you can't get them off of my feet for work.
