We ordered this to use as a school bag and it is fantastic! Would recommend. Fits lots of books/folders, laptop and has great little pockets for all the "stuff" kids hide in their school bags! Great quality too. I guess you could find "cheaper" bags but this one looks like it'll hold up.
Brands I'd also recommend: Element, Quiksilver

I love this bag! It was hard to chose from all the different styles Dakine has, so I'm not sure if I got the one most functional for me. But this bag just feels good. It's very comfortable to wear, the straps fit my torso perfectly. It also has plenty of space. I also love the organizational pockets and quality of the materials. I am a grad student that needs to carry around a lot of materials and this bag is just the thing. It's very cute as well.

I love this bag. It has so much room and all these wonderful pockets. It has a "safety pocket" on the back of it that fits my iPad perfectly and it's one of the only backpacks out there that can fit my 17" MacBoook. I got the foursquare print and it has a bunch of pretty touches here and there. Love it. My only complaint (and Dakine I hope you are listening) is that my previous Dakine backpack had a sunglasses pocket on the outside and on this model it's inside the bag. It's a hassle to dig inside on pocket which is inside another pocket in order to grab my sunglasses whenever I need them.
Brands I'd also recommend: Hurley, Burton, Patagonia

Overall this backpack is well-made, water resistant, and looks very modern and sleek. It has a ton of pockets. I really like the document protector, it keeps my stray papers organized and in tact. The only drawback for me is the lack of convenient pockets on the side for your water bottles, etc. But for a 25L backpack, it holds a lot of stuff.

About Dakine
DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it´s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. Hood. In 1989, after proving themselves as leaders in surf accessories, gear, and bags, DaKine committed to the rapidly expanding snowboard market with board accessories, board bags, and gear bags. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.
Throughout the 1990s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.
A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.
