I did like the backpack and the style looks great! Overall, I decided to return it because in the video I thought it was the size of a regular backpack but it seemed smaller that usual when I got it and it didn't fit the purpose for me purchasing it.

Very cute, small size backpack! I had a hard time deciding which Dakine backpack style to choose since they have so many. I love the smaller size, as I am pretty petite. I think this will work well for traveling and short day trips. I also like the bungee cords on the outside, perfect for stuffing a jacket or something in there. I also appreciate the mesh outside pockets great for carrying a water bottle. Overall, the construction of the bag feels solid. And the price can't be beat! A great deal. And seriously, Zappos you amaze me, I'm pretty sure I ordered this around 5pm central time and it arrived about 17 hours later! Wow!

Brands I'd also recommend: Hurley, Patagonia, Jansport

I love the Dakine Girls Wonder backpack in Oxford. It is very simple and compact so when I am out and about traveling/hiking during the day, I won't look so bulky and have to carry my school sized backpack (which is much larger to carry large textbooks and notebooks), and I think the Oxford design gives it a bit of style without looking very flashy and being out of school from some time now, I wouldn't look too juvenile. The fact that it doesn't have more than one small fuzzy pocket on top isn't very smart, but I don't carry a lot of small items and personally I have invented a quick and easy work around (which involves safety pins, resealable sandwich bag, tape/reinforcements hole punch stickers...you can do your own thing) which doesn't require me to sew (I can't) and it's easily removable without any damage to the bag. The bag is tough, lined on the inside with some rubber like material, the bag is also stiff due to the same reason, but I am hoping that it will become more flexible with use. I love the color with the light sea green plastic buckles & ties, and the little doted fabric is a nice contrast to the gray (slightly almost brown) color. Unsure why but you might have to air the bag out a bit before use as it does have a light smell of glue inside. In the pictures it looks like the bag will slim down but right now since it's still is pretty new, it looks very wide. The surprising factor in this bag was the bottom half where you'd think due to the corner folding inward due to the waist strap, Dakine would've sewn the corners closed. I found out that I could stick my two fingers into both corners which concerns me a bit...as dirt and dust can hide there making it annoying to get out. The two front mesh pockets are large and I can easily fit my hands in there. The top fuzzy pocket isn't as big as it looks so I think it will be full with my Blackberry smartphone and an iPod Touch. The bag carries a lot more than I initially thought, but my usual: Kindle, wallet, Blackberry, iPod Touch, iPad, spare book (sometimes), guidebook, and hoodie/x-tra layer), all seem to fit fine with some extra space for small souvenirs or what-not. I don't think I will use the elastics in the front of the bag to hold things, as the front straps for the board, works just as well, perhaps even better, for my hoodie/x-tra layer...which is nice as I haven't always had the best of luck with the elastic straps. The zippers give me a bit of a concern without having a cover like my other bags do, and living and traveling to wet places, sometimes I've had some water damage this way, but I am hoping it would be fine as I am not packing big items. The shoulder straps are rather slick but getting the bag on and off is easier that way. Some might complain that this bag doesn't zip farther down the sides, but I rather like it as the way it is because if someone were to try and pickpocket my bag, they would really have to reach to get anything to the point I would feel something...and the zipper tabs have enough room so that I may use something to lock them together...which is also another reason why I don't mind the fact that I don't have another outer front pocket. With the list of items I do pack with me during my travels, I still can find everything easily, and the size lets me not to over pack and walk around and store my bag easily. Another nice addition to my traveling bags.

Brands I'd also recommend: Keen, Simple, Josef Siebel, The North Face, Kiping

I loved the size and colors of this backpack, but the top of the straps in the back are a little close together, and even just trying it on with a little weight made them rub my neck rather painfully. I wish I could have kept it but there was no way.

Great bag! It's nice and compact and doesn't stick too far off your back while still holding lots of things. Right now I have it packed with wallet, makeup, book, water, umbrella, etc. Holds everything a big tote bag holds but sits comfortably on my back. Love it! Great quality, too.

In 1979, Rob Kaplan began manufacturing the DaKine Leash in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. The DaKine surf leash was designed for rigorous Hawaiian conditions and set the standard for innovative design and high quality. After this innovative breakthrough, DaKine started to build on its reputation by building technical surfing and windsurfing accessories, such as in 1980, when pro windsurfers asked Rob to help build footstraps for their new wave boards. Throughout the early 1980s, DaKine developed the 1st adjustable footstrap, seat harness, and waist harness, defining the company as the leading innovator in technical windsurfing accessories.

DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it´s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.

Throughout the 1990s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.

A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.

This backpack served it's purpose well for us. Just wish it would have had one more small zippered compartment.

I love Zappos! I ordered this backpack around 7 PM on Thursday night, thinking maybe, just maybe the backpack would arrive by my college orientation next Wednesday. I was out of the house today, but was delighted to see a Zappos box sitting on my doorstep by 2 in the afternoon on friday! I can always count on Zappos to get me what I need and fast! The backpack is great, too! I got it in the "Simba" color, and it's not dark to the point that it might be a little boy-ish, but dark enough that it won't show a ton of dirt from being set on the ground. The velvety pocket on the top is huge, perfect for fitting an iPod and cell phone and sunglasses, and even more. The strap around the waist seems a little boy-ish, but the pink buckles definitely give it a feminine touch. ;) Overall, the pack is spacey and seems like it will fit everything I could need, from papers and small books or binders for school, to a change of clothes, shoes, and a jacket for a day hike! I love Dakine packs, they last forever, an I love Zappos and their awesome service! Have no fear, Dakine and Zappos rule!
