This is roomy, well made, I love the padded glass case. I'm 5'2", its quite adjustable and fits petite women fairly well. One drawback is that the upper strap on the back hits my neck, and its just a wee bit too long for my size. Overall however, it can pack plenty and is very stylish! They inside is a great tie dye look, and the outside black cheetah print is classy.

This backpack has tons of convenient pockets and compartments for all of my small school things, which makes keeping organized really easy. It's very comfortable on my back, and the orange buckles are really cute.

We usually purchase our backpacks from a well know catalog company. Mainly because we like the quality and functionality. However, now that my oldest is in high school she wanted something a bit more trendy looking. I was interested in maintaining quality, and functionality. This backpack was the best of both worlds. Plenty of room for her lunch, binders, books, and laptop as well as several small storage compartments for pencils, calculators etc. Even better looking than the pictures. She gets compliments all the time. She has used it for a weekend trip as well. Perfect for us both.

Great backpack. I'm a college student, and it does a pretty good job fitting what I need for a couple of classes. Separate laptop compartment fits my 15" MacBook Pro perfectly. The cooler pocket is nice for sandwiches/snacks, and the sunglasses pocket is great not only for glasses but also if you have an iPod or loose CD's you don't want scratched. One small thing that bothered me is the number of zippers there are; they jangle around and make a lot of noise while you're walking if you don't have a lot of stuff in it to way down the backpack. I stopped noticing it after the first few days, though. I also wish the water bottle pockets were bigger; I like to carry Nalgene bottles and they don't fit :( The blue/orange pattern is great; I have gotten multiple compliments on how bright and cheerful the backpack is.

This backpack is great! I can carry my laptop and my books needed for the day without it being too heavy. I also love that I can carry a sandwich and small snack. I get a lot of compliments on the print! I honestly don't know how I got around campus without this backpack before!

I got this in the zebra print. It's great because it has a hint of detail without being obvious/tacky. The bag is perfect size. If you're only carrying a few books, it will seem big, but if you have a lot of books and a laptop you'll enjoy being able to carry everything around in this bag. Overall, great backpack!

My 15 year old loves it. Thus far it has proved to be sturdier than other brands we've purchased. Her computer fits in there nicely and plenty of room to use as an overnight bag or all her high school supplies/books.

I ordered this New Year’s Eve and I just got it, I'm so happy. First time I ordered from Zappos and it won't be the last!!! I love this bag. The only thing I kinda have a problem with is one of the zipper parts only opens half way, like that’s the way it’s made I guess. It’s where you can put your laptop; I wish it would open all the way, but it is soo cute. I’m a 35 yr. old college student, I wanted something fun, but not too young looking, and I can't wait to use this bag!!! I also ordered a Jansport bag as well. The big student bag which I love, too!!! I love Zappos you have a customer for life. :-)

I bought this bag for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. It looks great, but it was not practical for her and it was too small. She is a nursing student and carries around a couple of textbooks and a big binder. That stuff wouldn't fit in this bag. The laptop sleeve takes up significant space in the main compartment. I'd get this bag if I wanted to look cool, carried around a laptop, and a couple of books. If you carry lots of stuff and I would recommend something bigger. I have a smaller Dakine bag for myself, but I only carry around water bottles (reusable) and my lunch, and maybe a book here and there.

It is kind of big. Still has a lot of room on top after you add a notebook, etc. Cute design. My daughter who is 12 years old, loves it.

This bag is amazing! And gorgeous! It has pockets everywhere and most of them are padded (one is insulated!). Definitely worth every penny!

The Dakine Jewel is a really cute backpack. It would be great for any high school girl looking to have something different from everyone else. It's a good size, it easily fits all of my books. On the downside it is a little uncomfortable on your shoulders. For me, that's not really a big deal. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I received my Jewel Dakine and I didn't like it so much so I exchanged it for the Eve Dakine. The only thing I liked about this backpack was the separated compartment for the laptop, it's very cushiony! What I didn't like about this backpack was that it was too long of height. I would not recommend it to petite girls because it will look huge on, it even look big on me and I'm 5'5. If you are like me and likes to carry a lot of school supplies like pencils, pens, etc., then this is not the backpack for you because the compartment for pencils is too small. But overall it does look nice!

Great pack. I wanted something to hold tons of heavy books and my 15" MacBook pro. It works beautifully. I love the large drink holders (2) on the sides and the insulated front compartment for food is awesome. The sunglasses pocket on top is very handy, too! The only design change I would incorporate is to put air flow channeling on the back (since I live in hot Texas).

I am not a student, however, this backpack was an excellent purchase. Mostly I bought it for my go-to carry-on, and beach bag so all of the organizer pockets, the cooler pocket, the easy out laptop compartment are all so useful. Also I like the soft, plushy pockets for sunglasses, iPhone, and iPod. I was back and forth with a few of the Dakine styles, and it was down to this or the Prom style. Ultimately I chose this one because of the dual zippers on most of the openings (something when I'm in/out of a bag a lot I really find helpful), and the color choice. Loves: 1) I really love the funky Victorian design as well as the cool lining. For a variety of reasons, it's just very "me". 2) Great quality, really appreciate all of the padding & the laptop compartment is also useful for stowing a wet suit or towel separate from your other gear. 3) It's plenty big, in my opinion. 4) The straps are very sturdy and pretty comfortable Slight miss: 1) The cross strap isn't something I'll use much and it just sort of dangles in my way. So happy I finally bought it, the price was more than I cared to spend on my back pack, but this is a real bag and really just what I was wanting.

I ordered this backpack because I was having a difficult time finding a cute backpack style laptop bag. I have a 15.6 laptop and it is a perfect fit. It would work for a larger notebook as well I believe. The storage and organization in this bag is comparable to other backpacks, but it has a more fun feminine look. I am thrilled with my purchase!

It was between this, incase, The North Face and like 5 other brands. I couldn't make up my mind but what sold me was the fact that the Dakine company was founded in Haiku Maui, which is where I'm moving in 3 days! So I'm like, all right I gotta go with Dakine. I just got it in the mail. It's a little larger than I had envisioned but it's so practical and has so many compartments for everything I'll need, especially my laptop and iPod and such. It's all black but the little designs add a uniqueness I love! I'll update once I try it out!
