It looks just as nice as the picture does and does not make you look like a turtle with it on, even with about two binders and two notebooks. As said in the video, it is a strong material. Zippers are not too smooth, not too resistant (strong). Strips are very padded (soft) and have a strong feel. In the hands the carrying strap is good (a bit smaller then I expected, still very usable). The shoulder straps are very padded and comfortable, even with a heavy load. For the price, it is a great backpack, and worth the money (quality). But maybe it is a little pricey (yet I still bought it, because it's that good, to me). This is a pricey bag, but to my opinion as a student, it is a great bag.

Firstly, I'd like to mention that the video that accompanied the product information on the site was incredibly helpful. I love Zappos for that reason, such a great idea! I received the pack right when they said I'd get it and the bag itself is awesome, I wear it in the pouring rain and don't have any worries about my school books or my laptop getting wet (unlike some other brands whose name I won't mention - (lululemon)). The bag is pretty light on it's own, the straps are super comfortable and supportive as heck when you pack a lot into it and you can pack a lot into it despite it's deceptively small appearance. It's got a good amount of pockets and not at all complicated with excessive straps or anything like that. I'm totally pleased with the pack; it was such a steal!

Great sleek, low profile bag. Tough materials. With this bag and a carry-on, I never check my luggage for 3-4 day business trips.

This was a little smaller than I though, but that actually works out best for me since I'm a small lady and usually just use this as a really big purse and over night stays. I love it. Excellant array of compartments

In 1979, Rob Kaplan began manufacturing the DaKine Leash in Haiku, Maui, Hawaii. The DaKine surf leash was designed for rigorous Hawaiian conditions and set the standard for innovative design and high quality. After this innovative breakthrough, DaKine started to build on its reputation by building technical surfing and windsurfing accessories, such as in 1980, when pro windsurfers asked Rob to help build footstraps for their new wave boards. Throughout the early 1980s, DaKine developed the 1st adjustable footstrap, seat harness, and waist harness, defining the company as the leading innovator in technical windsurfing accessories.

DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it´s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. Hood. In 1989, after proving themselves as leaders in surf accessories, gear, and bags, DaKine committed to the rapidly expanding snowboard market with board accessories, board bags, and gear bags. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.

Throughout the 1990s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.

A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.

Great backpack. Lots of storage. The lining on the inside is nice, maroon in the main pocket and electric blue with maroon stripes in the front pocket. My only dislikes are the many dangling straps in front but thats a problem with most backpacks. The external side pockets with black netting are also a little shallow, might not be best place to store something tall like a water bottle. Overall this is exactly what I wanted and its a very solid backpack.

Great backpack! I originally got the element but I decided it was too big for my needs. I generally just needed something simple with just enough space and to not make me look like a turtle. Has plenty of space for all the essentials, I would definitely buy again.

I purchased this backpack in the Forden pattern for my son after viewing the video! Thanks Zappos for that feature. The backpack was delivered when promised and we checked it out thoroughly. Our favorite feature is in the main compartment sleeve for a laptop or folder. I'm sure this backpack will keep the contents dry in the rain.

This is a beautifully designed backpack that was obviously very well thought out. I still cannot believe the height level, not just length, of the straps can be adjusted!

Great backpack. Holds everything I need and is really high quality. Even though I sometimes stuff it with books, the zippers still holds. The only problem I have is the zipper being too loud. I sometimes get stares while in the library.

Great bag with all the right compartments. Especially handy for traveling. The inside color can surprise you, though. I chose the grey bag and the lining is red, and in the outside pockets it is red and turquoise. Otherwise, fantastic.

I ordered the Stencil (grey and blue) colored version, which I really like. I would agree with previous comments in that the zippers are somewhat loud. This is a good quality, comfortable backpack. I'm a full-time college student and it's just fine with two medium size binders, and two small books. It will carry a medium textbook and small textbook in addition as well without any issue. I believe it will hold up just fine. I like the built-in grab option located on the top between the straps. As always, Zappos ships items very quickly and I received it with in a couple of days.
