This is a beautiful and compact backpack. I can fit in my 2-1/2" thick textbook, a 1" soft plastic folder, a one subject notebook; a pencil bag; and a small water bottle. I can also fit my iPad in the laptop section. The front zipped section can fit in small items like snacks, lunch, small electronic items, & small toiletries. The open pocket in front can accommodate car keys, gum & tissue paper. This is a great bag for a day trip, light hike or when you only have to take just one class twice a week. I thought of getting the zebra because I wanted to look more professional and less juvenile, but I don't want a black bag since I live the southwest. So I got the lace floral, which is very feminine & chic.

Super cute! Even has a velvet lined pocket for your treasures! Not too big, but big enough for a few books, notebooks, etc. Great looking pack, let's hope it holds up to everyday use!

It is well designed, expandable and very cute backpack! The delivery was fast and tracking was easy. Thanks. It looks smaller than the actual size but it is just right for petite people like me.

It is the perfect size backpack for a slender college student! It fits my back, so that at the end of the day my shoulders/back aren't hurting from lugging around notebooks and readers. And all the pockets are great too, though I must admit I haven't yet used the laptop sleeve.

About Dakine
DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it´s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. Hood. In 1989, after proving themselves as leaders in surf accessories, gear, and bags, DaKine committed to the rapidly expanding snowboard market with board accessories, board bags, and gear bags. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.
Throughout the 1990s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.
A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.

Was looking for a smaller backpack than my black North Face Isabella to carry around on trips, since this backpack's capacity is a bit smaller and the design was nice. I bought it. When I received it, I stuffed it with what I would normally carry in it (Kindle, iPad, mobile phone, iPod, small planner, wallet, hoodie, and perhaps a small book), it held everything just fine, but it seemed to look bulkier than my Isabella, even though Isabella is suppose to be wider by 2" and it even makes me look slimmer. The material of the bag surprised me as it is thicker feeling, rubbery inside (for rain protection), and very stiff which I hope will become more flexible with use. The ruched detail in the front makes the bag cute and a bit more feminine, but kept getting my papers stuck in them when trying to use the front pockets, let alone some of my items getting stuck on the rubbery inside. The computer compartment was nice as I had the option of taking my 13 inch Macbook Pro, but I, like another reviewer, easily slipped my iPad there. The padding is nice and thicker than my Isabella, but it is also very slick on my shoulders. The zippers were a concern of mine, as it did slide along easily, but 1) didn't have a flap covering them (I live in a constantly rainy place and had items soaked by the uncovered zipper) and 2) the zippers kept jingling and couldn't be helped. Now my Isabella jingles a bit too, but it doesn't seem to be as much as the Erika does when zipped to one side. This is my first Dakine purchase and the bag seems to be built very solid and rugged, but I think this has to be a return. It's much to similar to my old Isabella to the point that if I were to carry a bag this size and style, why wouldn't I just carry my Isabella? Sounds silly, but it just looked to much like a school backpack, while my Isabella looks a bit more versatile and older.

This backpack is awesome for carrying around your 3-ring binder, book, and also your laptop! I have had many comments on how cute it is and it fits perfect! The straps are soft and you can barely tell that it is on your back! I highly recommend this product! It also has a sunglass holder on the top which I have also used for my cell phone and iPod!

I am a teacher that was going to a large conference. I was looking for a comfortable but practical backpack to carry all my treasures I collected. I wore it for 4 days straight and found it comfortable and practical. I wish it had a place for my water bottle on the side, but I did use the front pocket for my bottle. It worked well. Even a friend of mine complemented me on the design of the bag. Definitely recommend it. Laptop sleeve is great.

This was a wonderful purchase. If I had money to waste I would buy another color. It serves as my purse and to carry items, such as bib, etc. for my disabled husband. It is so pretty and does not look like an ordinary backpack. It is perfect!

I'm a college freshmen. So far this backpack has lasted 5 months. The quality is strong enough to support various textbooks and a laptop. You wouldn't regret buying it! Best choice ever. Trust me.
