DaKine moved their manufacturing and operations to Hood River, OR in 1986; besides being a popular windsurfing location on the mainland, it´s also a gathering place for the best professional snowboarders looking to ride on Mt. Hood. In 1989, after proving themselves as leaders in surf accessories, gear, and bags, DaKine committed to the rapidly expanding snowboard market with board accessories, board bags, and gear bags. By using their commitment to unique designs, high quality, and the desire to stay true to the spirit of the sport, the company would become the world leader in this market over the next 15 years.
Throughout the 1990s, DaKine moved into the snowsports glove category with a modest three styles, and has now expanded that line to close to 70 models today. In 1996, DaKine introduced the Heli Pack, which helped create the new category of minimalist technical backcountry day packs. In 1998, DaKine sought to surpass the Heli Pack and introduced the Heli Pro. In a short time, the Heli Pro becomes the standard for technical daypacks as well as the sport's best selling (and most copied) model. Also around this time, DaKine moved into skate specific packs, such as the Park Pack, which quickly became known for its innovation and durability.
A true leader in the world of bags, packs, and accessories, DaKine has also built a reputation in the travel category, whether it is board sport specific carriers or luggage. After celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2004, DaKine continues to pride itself on developing products for the top professionals in every board sport and building its reputation for innovation and quality for over a quarter of a century.

First off, Bravo to Zappos! I ordered this bag late one night and it was on my doorstep by mid-afternoon the very next day. I love this bag. I use it as a work bag and it holds my 13 inch laptop comfortably, as well as a few textbooks and file folders. I love that it's a sturdy bag and can withstand different weather elements. The material is nice and the handles are soft. This is one of many Dakine bags I have, because it's usually my go-to brand when purchasing a new bag. I know I'm getting a quality bag at a reasonable price. You will not be disappointed with this bag! Bonus: It looks good with most everything!

I love this bag. I have been searching for a great bag for school and it is perfect the graduate student. It is beautiful, comfortable and can carry everything I need. I am thinking about purchasing an additional bag in a different color.

Super cute & functional. Love the interior lining -- really pretty. Favorite part is the exterior. Seems pretty durable, but the pattern on it isn't too in-your-face. It's more noticeable in different kinds of lighting. Definitely a cute laptop bag I won't mind bringing to happy hour.

I am very happy with my choice of the stylish, roomy bag. My 20+ daughter was pleasantly surprised that I chose something so contemporary. I teach preschool and need something big enough to hold a lot, yet not be too bulky. I do not take a laptop, so I use both sides for 'shlepping'. There is also room for a wallet, lipstick etc.

I scoured the internet for a teacher bag that would have functionality and style at a fair price, and I think that I have found it. I sought a bag to replace the very mannish messenger bag that I had been using. I wanted a bag that would be just as functional but more feminine and stylish. I have not actually used the Anya bag yet, but I am looking forward to the compliments I expect to hear from coworkers. As for functionality, I love that the bag has both the leather-look handles and a cross-body strap. I do not often take my laptop to work, but it does fit nicely in the padded pocket if I should need to. There is room for file folders or ring binders to travel with me. It would be handy to have an exterior pocket for my cell phone and keys, but there is a spot for those inside the bag. I would like a holder for a water bottle, or travel mug, too, but I can see how that would be a problem if the bag tipped over, so I can live without that little detail. This is a functional, tough bag that is not too big or too small, and very is stylish. I am counting on it to help me appear more organized and put-together than I really am.
