I bought one of these a few years ago when I got tired of taking up freezer space with the one that you have to pre-freeze the bowl. This product is amazing. Noisy but amazing. Just put the ingredients in and turn the timer. The ice cream still needs to be frozen solid like other machines but it really is a set it and wait till the timer goes off machine. I love it. Never had a single failure.

I have a yearly Ice Cream Social in my back yard. I make 20-30 ice creams, have 15+ toppings, 5+ homemade sauces and 50+ people annually so I need to make sure I can make ice cream quickly & easily. In previous years I've just used my 7 small ice cream makers & did the best I could. Unfortunately those are the ice/salt and the bowl freeze variety. This year, my husband bought me this Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker and I was thrilled! This machine is really a work horse. I've made 9 batches of ice cream back to back and it performed exceptionally. Some of the ice cream bases were chilled, others were room temp & 1 or 2 were rather warm but it still produced yummy results. The lid opening is wide enough to add mix-ins, the dasher is easy to lick (uh, clean), it feels solid & although large, doesn't take up as much space as I had imagined. I do have two negative points. The bowl/pail isn't as quite as large as I'd like. While still manageable, I'd prefer if it were 1/4 -1/3 again as large, but that is just personal preference. Also, it is noisy. Not really any more noisy than any other machine but I'd still prefer it to be more quiet. Neither of these points are bad enough to make me lament my purchase, however. In 2 months I've made over 50 ice creams and it has never failed me. Would definitely purchase it again. Unfortunately, since this machine makes it so easy to make ice cream on a whim (no need for pre-freeze or ice/salt), I end up doing so more often!

Not bad. Texture was slightly off. This is not a commercial type unit as the name would lead you to believe. The churn blade was wobbly after 3 uses. Was not able to churn well. Still prefer my Whynter ice cream maker that I gave to my sister after getting this.
Brands I'd also recommend: Whynter
