It was a great coffeepot until I picked it up one day and the pot detached from the handle. It was only attached with a glue. Very much a safety hazard.

The perfect coffee maker because it: 1) is ready to pour - no unscrewing or button-pushing required, 2) keeps coffee hot for hours, 3) is thermal and doesn't "cook" the coffee, 4) can be programmed to be ready when I waken, and 5) makes great-tasting coffee consistently. It does require a tall space on the counter and is a bit of a challenge to keep the inside of the carafe shiny - unlike a glass carafe.

Brands I'd also recommend: I don't go by brands; even the 10 cup version of this coffee maker was not satisfactory to me - had to be unscrewed, did not keep coffee hot, etc.

I have had this coffeemaker for about 1 month (used daily) and highly recommend it. It makes great coffee and has features that are important to me which are: 1) Thermal Pot that keeps coffee nice and hot, 2) wide opening on the top of coffeemaker so that I can pour the water in very quickly without spilling, 3) coffee/filter basket that swings out for easy fill, and 4) programmable. I have not discovered anything that I do not like about this coffeemaker. The carafe is easy to use (lid screws on/off easily), and it pours nicely. And, best of all, it makes a great tasting pot of coffee (especially for those who like to drink it black).

36 years of marriage and many coffee makers later this is the one in which we haven't broken the carafe because it is stainless. However, the last couple of months black flakes appear when we rinse out the carafe before making the morning coffee. Is this a coating that has given way, is it still OK to use? It is impossible to see inside even with flashlight due to small opening. We like the coffeemaker, but can't seem to find a replacement carafe online. Would rather not buy another just to replace the carafe.

I've originally purchased this model since it provided a thermos to keep the coffee warm. However, this specific model did not perform well. First, the coffee never stayed hot more than 20-30 min, the drip-stop didn't stop dripping, water started leaking from the base after about 4-6 month and you had to be careful to properly align the lid on the thermos or coffee would spill all over. Looks nice, worked very poorly for us.

Great coffee maker. We had a Starbuck's Arista Grande for years and reality got used to the carafe staying warm all morning without burning the coffee. Starbuck's discontinued their model, so we looked long and hard for a suitable replacement and we are very demanding about our coffee and we are both pleased with this coffee maker.

Have had a Krup forever so was leery about changing but am loving the carafe on this machine! Keeps very hot, pours easily. Machine makes a great cup of coffee. Lid on machine feels little flimsy, but that is only negative. Had filter in wrong one day and that made a mess, but otherwise no problems. Love it!

Since I prepare my coffee the night before, it did not stay as warm as it might if the carafe were warmed just before making. Also, the lid is a bit difficult to fit on properly. On the plus side, the coffee has a fresher taste from not being kept on the burner. I would have returned this if I were not so lazy but now I just hope I will get used to it. I would still recommend the Cuisinart brand, just not this particular model. I can never say enough about the efficient service I receive from Zappos.

We purchased this coffeemaker because it is the same one we had for 10 years. It is the best around. I love that it is 12 cups and the thermal container really does keep the coffee hot for hours. Makes a huge difference when two people have different schedules in having their coffee in the morning. I definitely recommend this coffeemaker as the best around.
