In deciding on the CBM-18, I first did a lot of research on conical burr grinders, watched the videos online, but just wasn't ready to pop for one of the $200-300 models (that's a lot of coffee!) So, I replaced my Cuisinart DBM-8 disc burr grinder with this one because discs in my old one were worn to the point of making too much fine powder along with the medium drip grind. The attraction to the CBM-18 was the lighted display to select the #of cups which my wife needed rather than just the 'seconds' timer. I read the comments about the static grind mess, but talking to several friends that have other brands (even more expensive) say they have the same issue. So, I've accepted the minor static clean-up as part of the routine of having far superior and uniform grind and great tasting coffee. And Zappos is one of only a very few places offering this model! And their price was right and service always excellent!
