Converse - This is a very comfortable shoe. I work in a variety of conditions including construction sites and large buildings. I am on my feet a lot, walking, climbing ladders, etc. This shoe leaves my feet feeling much better at the end of a day than most shoes do. I am very pleased with it.

Good overall fit, but rigid, uncomfortable tongue - I ordered these shoes for working in the yard and garden. Converse is typically my first choice in a work tennis shoe, but I won't be keeping these. I sometimes teeter between a medium and wide (depending on the shoes style and design), but a medium width was plenty roomy in this shoe and the length felt true to size. However, the tongue of the shoe comes up quite far and is very rigid and unyielding, to the point of being very uncomfortable and irritating to the top of my foot. I will be sending the shoes back, BUT, unless they drastically change their policies and exquisite customer service, I will be a life-long Zappos customer! Their shoes are great in both appearance and quality, and their lightening fast and free shipping can't be beat! I WILL be back, and am truly sorry these shoes didn't work!

Shoe is toooooo wide - This shoe is ugly, too wide and distorts its shape while on your foot. It is poorly designed and engineered. I design and cut clothing. Wrinkles appear in clothing while standing because of the engineering and design of the pattern. Shoes are probably the same. The distortions of the shoe have to do with a poor cut and engineering.

A "work shoe" should be durable - I bought these for my daughter who wanted an all-black sneaker for school. After one week of wear the toes are already visibly scuffed. Yes, she's hard on her shoes but I expected an item marketed as a work shoe to hold up better and for longer. She is happy with the fit and comfort but I won't be buying these again.
