The shoe is very comfortable, I've been wearing boots for 20 years. Plenty of tread. However, these boots mixed with my sweat make a funky smell not like any shoe I've owned. Not sure if it's the leather or the sole but it's funky. Other than that, 5 stars.

Bought these for my son to wear to work. He loves them. He has to wear solid black shoes and they're hard to find in wide widths. So far they are holding together nicely for as hard as he is on work shoes. Hope they are still around when he needs a new pair.

Comfortable, straight out of the box. Working as a contractor in Iraq, I have met several people who like them very much (one said they were uncomfortable). If you have a high instep (as I do) you won't be able to get away with using the zipper only to put on/take off.

Love these boots!!! I have them in the beige, not the black. Since I got them, I've rarely taken them off. They look great, feel soft and comfy, and my feet have stayed warm and dry thru all the rain and snow we've had lately. I highly recommend them. And no, I don't use the zipper, but who cares? I didn't buy them for the zipper!

First of all, the grey color is so versatile. It’s a hard-to-describe shade of darkish brown, grey, almost black. Overall, this shoe is beautiful and classy looking. The shaft height is great for me – I’m only 5’4� & I hate it when boots come all the way up to my knees. They look SUPER over skinny jeans. I did re-order a larger size (9 & I’m usually an 8-8.5) b/c they were uncomfortable with thicker socks. I’m still not sure about that heel style - I usually like a more rugged shoe. I think I’ll keep them and cater to my more "refined" self. These would be great for someone to wear to work and still be stylish & comfortable.

These Shoes Rock!!! I am a 37 year old EMT in Boston and… surprize! I'm a fat guy. I require an extra wide (EE - which is actually just a "wide") which is how I found this shoe in the first place. Couldn't be happier with the looks, the fit, or the comfort... I might just sleep in these babies tonight. For the price... best shoes/boots I've ever owned.

Correctional Officer - I bought this boot about one year ago. The look is great, mine has a side zip which is great for getting on and off; however, back in the Achilles tendon area a piece of the boot appears plastic but is harder started to poke through the lining and now digs into the back of the heel/Achilles area rendering the boot unwearable. The comfort of putting the boot on right out of the box was AMAZING! Just like tennis shoes, great arch support as well.

Although this shoe is comfortable, it did not withstand the daily pounding of my job. After 1 month of walking (about 10 miles daily, 6 days a week), the sides are tearing at the seams. For what I needed, these shoes were a bit of a disappointment.

This boot wears good but not ideal for tactical everyday use. The rubber sole has came apart from the heel several times and eventually just gave them away.

These shoes were disappointing as they only lasted through two short (5 week) trips to rocky, sandy, and difficult terrain. After these two trips, the insoles and the outsoles came unglued and deteriorated, and the boots had to be thrown away. Do not depend upon this shoe when traveling to rough terrain, especially if there is little access to replacement boots at your destination. For the money, you could get sturdier and better shoes.

Don't bother, better choices out there. Granted, these shoes look pretty good, but they look much better on Zappos nifty photo preview than they do in real life. That said, these shoes are incredibly uncomfortable. The leather is a hard shell and the shoes seem to pinch in all the wrong places. The worst part? The side zipper is very poorly designed. It is positioned at an angle that is too vertical and too far back toward the heel (difficult to explain, but trust me). In order to leave the shoes laced and use the slip-on aspect, utilizing the zipper is impossible. You have to unlace the shoe, or at least loosen the laces, each time you put it on, which defeats the purpose of having a zipper boot.

Feels better when it’s not on my feet! These boots look great, however they lack a sufficient amount of holes to lace them up properly, and they are not breaking in too easily! My feet start killing me after just an hour of wearing them! There is a non exchange/refund policy for wearing these shoes, and I don't know how anyone can get a feel for them if they don't see how they are going to hold up on a day to day basis! If you have sensitive feet (like I do), I suggest going with something else.
