From the mouth of an 8 year old - "These shoes are awesome!" I don't think you can describe them better that that. We're a Chucks family, we live in and swear by Converse, but these were for my nephew who's obsessed with all things military. When I showed them to him, he flipped out. And, since getting them (next day - thanks Zappos!), he hasn't taken them off yet. He says that they're comfortable and "really cool!" Of course, being Converse, they're made for comfort and the durability is unbeatable. But, if you're the type who wants their shoes to look brand new all time, I will definitely say that these are not for you. Chucks get the perfect worn look and the feeling just gets better with wear! A perfect score from a happy aunt and a very happy 8 year old!
I'd also recommend: DC Shoes (but there's really nothing like a great pair of Chucks!)
