I am not really a big fan of the Chuck Taylor look, but I had to buy a pair of Purcell's for work. Wow! They are so light and comfortable and just a great looking, casual sneaker. I usually use a pair of high end orthodics in my sneakers, but the insoles in these were comparable in terms of support. They look awesome with jeans, chinos or shorts. They are pretty expensive considering they are simple cotton canvas but I was so impressed that I bought another pair in a different color, which really says something because I am a minimalist and despise excess.
