Shoe Drive

June 2008

Everyone loves a new pair of shoes and children are no different. Zappos.com donated 200 pairs and employees matched that with another 200 pairs of new shoes to benefit the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. In addition, more than 100 pairs of gently used shoes were collected. These shoes will be used to support various programs the foundation offers such as Camp Cartwheel, Flashes of Hope, and Champions Run for Life.

Aid for AIDS Nevada

Zappos.com was a sponsor for the recent AFAN (Aid for AIDS Nevada) walk and 40 employees raised money and walked for the cause.

Sock Hop

April 2008

The Fulfillment Center in Shepherdsville, KY had a Sock Hop to benefit "Hannah's Socks", a charity that collects socks for the homeless in the northern Kentucky and southern Ohio/Indiana area. Zappos employees donated around 550 pairs of socks! We had a great time with a '50's costume contest, ice cream social, and karaoke-singin' to some oldies!

Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kentuckiana Bowling Competition

42 employees participated and blew away the competition raising over $4000 for a great cause!

Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation's Easter Extravaganza

Las Vegas Zapponians spent their Easter helping the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation at their yearly Easter Extravaganza hosted by Lake Las Vegas.

Polar Bear Plunge Benefiting the Special Olympics of Kentucky

What's better than jumping into freezing cold water? Jumping in for charity! 53 employees from our Kentucky distribution center joined the annual Polar Bear Plunge benefiting the Special Olympics of Kentucky. These crazy Zapponians wore their favorite 80's rock star gear and jumped in to the freezing cold river. The high for the day was a chilly 36 degrees!

Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation's Santa's Workshop

December 2007

Las Vegas employees joined forces with the NCCF to assist with organizing a party for the children in the Oncology Unit at a local children's hospital. Volunteers assisted the children with arts and crafts, cookie decorating, and pictures and gifts from Santa.

Toy Drive Benefiting the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation

Halloween at Zappos

We opened our doors to the children and families of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation to join us on Halloween. Activities included arts and crafts, trick or treating, and some spooky fun inside our haunted house.

Juvenile Diabetes

A Pie Toss for a Good Cause. Managers lined up for the chance to raise money for a good cause and employees lined up to throw pies at their favorite managers. The pie toss raised over $980 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
