There is an elastic band underneath the front strap. This made the shoe too tight and no way to make it looser. Maybe OK if you have a narrow foot.

I wear my sandals daily. This pair is the 4th pair of Columbia's that I have purchased. Straps at the front are connected by elastic in addition to being able to close by velcro. Elastic is a little snug and not necessary - never had that before. I'm contemplating cutting the elastic off. The rubber inner sole is so much better than those supposed anti-microbial soles for keeping clean and odor free.

I really liked the look of these sandals, and they're pretty sturdy. Unfortunately the footbed (I guess you would call it that?) was a bit uncomfortable for me - like it had been molded for a foot that isn't mine. I usually wear a size 9, and when I put these on I had too much room by the toes. So, they may run a bit long. I'll be returning them. Not right for me, but may be right for some.

These aren't the most exciting sandals to look at, but, Wow, are they comfortable! I have narrow feet, so the elastic band on the front strap made them fit just perfectly. They felt like they were custom made for my feet, and made my long feet look not quite so long. No break in time required! If I could give them six stars for comfort, I would.

Very sturdy, as other reviewers have posted before me. I have small feet and the Techsun fits perfectly everywhere, although the front elastic part is a little bit snug. If you have wider feet, I would recommend ordering a half size up as the front will be a bit snug. There isn't as much arch support as I had wanted, but it's still very sturdy and ideal for trekking through the outdoors.

I was looking for the same style of Columbia I bought several years ago that I am still wearing and they are still very comfortable. Couldn't find them anywhere and this was the closest style I could find. When I first tried them on, they did not seem as comfortable as the style I am used to, but after wearing around the house, I found them to be very comfortable and to fit great. I would recommend these, just give them a trial wear around the house first and as I found, my feet feel great.

The bed of the shoe is outstanding. The strap across the toe is very uncomfortable and the ankle strap cuts into the ankle. I couldn't tell just wearing around the house, but when I wore to the golf open for which I bought the shoes I was very unhappy with the comfort. This is not my typical experience with Columbia.

Okay for a short distance walk in town, the sole is too thin and uncomfortable for a long walk. Always like Columbia brand until now, very disappointed with this purchase.

Love these shoes! I did cut the elastic on the toe strap. It was too tight and not needed. So, they are so perfect and comfy. Very light and dry fast when you get them wet! I love Zappos!

I thought this sandal would work well for hiking and especially in wet conditions. I previously owned a pair of Columbia sandals like these which lasted for years. I found the strap across the toe area was too tight and could not be adjusted to the point where they were comfortable. The rest of the fit was good so I couldn't go to a bigger size. Disappointing because they were otherwise what I was looking for and a very good price.

These sandals are fantastic! The "arch support" provided is ample. They are true to size. My podiatrist has told me when you find a shoe/sandal you like order 2 pairs as they won't be available when you need another. I probably should order another pair today.

I have bought this style of water sandal from Columbia for years. So has my sister. We were both disappointed with this year's new styling! Across the breadth of the foot, they changed it from a complete circle with Velcro closing to an elasticated strap that looks the same as last year's model, the Velcro part is cosmetic instead part of the design. I have a wide foot and this shoe worked well until this year. I should have sent it back, but it did not bother me till I wore the shoe several times. I finally cut the elastic strap, closing it with the Velcro strap. Now I can wear it, but, of course it does not hold well! My sister experienced it too, and she has a normal width foot. I cannot recommend these shoes, despite in the past being delighted and only able to say great things about it!

I purchased these because they are waterproof. Just cut the elastic strip under the toe strap and they are very comfortable. As there are no half sizes I found that going up a size was too big - going down a size was just right.

I love these sandals and I am very disappointed I cannot have them and will have to wait a long time to get them because they are way too big. I wear size 8½, so I went to 9. I should have gone to 8 and now I am having to return and buy them all over again. You should have an exchange system, and you should warn people that sizes run a bit larger than standard. You are probably losing sales and customers this way. I could just buy them in size 8 someplace else.

They are very comfortable. I did buy a size too large, but they work okay. I kept them. My feet tend to swell and I need the velcro shoes sometimes.
