    Columbia Gathering Storm™ Glove Review

    from Northern US mountains.

So who would buy gloves at this price unless they're like cashmere or super fine leather? *waves hand wildly in air* "I would! I would!" Why? Because as the primary snow scooper of my household, I decided to invest in a pair of really high-quality winter sport gloves. So I'm outside shoveling in them, it's about 38 degrees - and my fingertips are freezing. They'd never do for a day on the slopes if they can't handle 15 minutes of snow shoveling. Also, the sizing seemed off. I have long, thin fingers and always take a medium in women's gloves, the thumb on these fit about right, but the fingers left me with a good 1/2 inch of room at the top, so if you decide to try these, I'd order as if they were a unisex size. I can't recommend these goes at all - it's infuriating when a maker bills a product as a super warm outdoor glove, charges an exorbitant price for them and they miss the mark by a long shot. Zappos, however, was wonderful - I love them. I returned the gloves, no worries (and bought something else - so we're all happy).

Who is Columbia? They try things. That may sound like small potatoes. But more than talent, money, or good looks, trying is the fuel of progress. It’s the spirit that pushes people up mountains, down rivers, and across continents. Trying helped them put little silver dots on the inside of jackets, made shirts that repel bugs, and led to a rechargeable heating system in boots. If you think trying won’t help, remember the Grand Canyon started with one drop of water trying to get to the ocean. And Columbia was born as a small, family hat company in Portland. So try. Try often. Try differently. Try harder. Then try again. Greatness will follow. Columbia. Trying stuff since 1938.
