This boot is everything I hoped for and is so lightweight. It should be a 5 star boot. However, the ankle area support "dug in" to the bone so bad that it was unbearable. What is meant to be a protective and supportive plate-like insert actually creates a terrible problem. Talk about painful! They are warm, strong, waterproof... Everything I wanted. This boot is so superior in every way that I'm actually really upset to have to return it. My husband and I both have the Omni tech gloves and love them. Columbia-please hear this and FIX this design flaw!

Sadly, the reviews I read were right...this boot is very uncomfortable, due to some kind of hard plastic sticking out/pressing on your ankle. It hurts just to walk around in my house - will have to send it back.

I got the turtle dove/metallic silver and I am absolutely thrilled with these boots! They have a bit higher shaft than my last pair of Columbia winter boots and that is wonderful! Not a single flake of snow entered my boots and I was playing and sledding with my 4 year old daughter and my energy filled 3 year old black lab/boxer mix who both adore the snow! I received the boots 3 days before the storm and I couldn't be happier! They are even lightweight enough that I can play chase with my dog and daughter (and I have severe rheumatoid arthritis) and they kept my feet at the absolute perfect temp! Not the slightest bit cold, nor the slightest bit too warm! I ordered a half size up because I like to have toe wiggle room in my boots and to allow for thicker socks if necessary. As it stood, I wore cotton socks and was dry as a bone after some hardcore snow play 2 days in a row (I'm disabled and the only Mama out on the street playing!) The 2nd day it started to melt a bit, but made no difference to these boots! Warm, dry, light, comfortable! I searched long and hard and these boots are the ones to get! And as for the reviewer who said there was something sticking into her ankle - No idea? maybe she needed a different size! These have excellent ankle support and excellent support all around and I love the color I picked too! Hope you enjoy!

Great boots that do exactly what they advertise they will do. My only wish is that the laces were a little bit longer, as I have to pull them very very tight to have enough slack left to tie a proper bow. But I've never yet found a pair of lace-up boots that didn't have laces that were too short. They do keep my feet warm and dry in the snow, but when the snow starts melting and I have to walk through slush my feet get cold fast. I solve the problem by wearing 2 pairs of socks or 1 super thick pair.

I did not see the comments about the plastic hurting the ankle, but owie, I could not wear these at all around the house. It is also much taller than I anticipated. I did not really like the overall style, but because the last boots I had were Columbia and I just loved them, I wanted to try these.

I ordered these boots for hiking and camping in Alaska. They are amazingly lightweight, durable, and waterproof. The traction is great. I find the shaft of the boot snug but it doesn't dig into my ankles as mentioned in some reviews. I'm very pleased with the boots; it great to finally have outdoor boots that aren't heavy and cumbersome. I'm usually a 5.5 or 6 in boots and the 6 fits fine with room for heavy socks.

I ordered these Columbia Bugaboots for my 13-year old granddaughter and Zappos had them on our doorstep two days later--thanks so much for the super quick delivery! They were exactly what she wanted: comfortable, warm and stylish, too. She loves her new boots and so do we!
