So my boss pretty much hates on me 99% of the time. She hates if I am engaged in my work, or am just happy. It is so sad, for me, but especially for her, who has spent all her life in anger. And now more than ever, I've been walking, riding bikes and busing over to work, and more often than not, I am breathing easier knowing 1.) my future is unwritten and not determined by this negative person, and 2.) I've got these revolutionary comfortable and understated shoes between me and the ground. Since I have starting wearing these in, I have had to remind myself not to look like I feel this liberated about the above statements. :)

Looks like I'm one of the few dissenting opinions for this shoe. Let me say, I normally love Cole Haan loafers, I've bought 3 pairs over the last 2 years. I purchased this shoe based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Zappos and I am extremely disappointed. First off, the leather on this shoe looks plastic, like fake pleather (think sneakers) plastic. In addition, the leather is rigid and unforgiving. I've tried to break them in for a month, and still extremely painful to wear. Also, if you're considering buying these, you'll probably need a 1/2 to full size larger than what you would normally wear. I've been stretching this shoe constantly when I'm not wearing them and they still feel a 1/2 size too small and very narrow. I have normal feet and have never had a wideness issue with any other shoe. Also, if you're one of those people that likes to go sockless every now and then for comfort, do not buy these. I made that mistake and got blisters in 3 different locations on both my feet. I normally love Cole Haans, and will probably buy another pair next year, I just hope they improve on this model's shortcomings.

Wow! These shoes are so elegant! Wear them with summer jeans and without socks and, you'll feel great! Love them!

These are beautiful shoes. I bought them for my husband. He's fussy. They were comfortable out of the box for him. However, he scuffed the toes the first time he wore them.

Excellent shoe. I usually wear Allen Edmonds. This is my first foray into Cole Haan. I have a narrow foot and the Howland loafer fits nearly perfectly. Only caveat is that once I bought one pair I ended up with three in different colors and textures because they are comfortable and reasonably attractive. Complaint is there aren't more different styles to choose from in the Howland fit.
I'd also recommend: Allen Edmonds.

Initially I bought the medium width and had to return them because they were too tight on the sides, so I exchanged them for the wider version and they fit perfectly. I'm very happy with the quality and comfort of the shoe. I would recommend them to anyone looking for penny loafers.
