I wore these right out of the box, although a little snug around the top of the foot. The leather is so soft, knew they would break in nicely. They are not for wearing with a suit but look great for dressing up casual wear. The leather is soft and the shoes feel like you are wearing slippers.

Beautiful Loafer - I purchased this loafer for my husband. He loved the fit and look but ultimately returned them in favor of a black & brown loafer. The only thing about this loafer that he did not love was the sole. As others have mentioned, the sole does not extend under the toe and he wished it did. Overall, though, a lovely shoe.

These are great looking loafers, and I get many compliments on their style. The black loafers are made of soft leather and are very comfortable. The saddle tan are stiffer leather and take longer to break in (order a larger size). Beware that the rubber sole does not extend to the toe, and if you plan on walking in these a lot (especially on rough surfaces), you'll need to have an additional strip of rubber placed on the toe to prevent wearing through the leather.

My absolute favorite shoe ever. I bought a pair a year ago and love them just as much now as I did then. The leather is a very good quality tumbled leather and the looks of these shoes have me constantly looking down at them. They are also one of the most comfortable shoes that I own so I bought a second pair (different style though). The one thing that I must say is that in the front of the shoe the leather begins to scuff since there is no sole in the front. This didn't bother me until the scuff became a hole. I thought it was just me (I have a lazy walk and tend to drag my feet a little) but two of my friends who had the same shoe had the same problem. But while the shoe lasts, it definitely is my favorite and will buy another pair.

The shoe was a great fit. I\'m in college now and I wanted to change my look up a bit and these shoes helped a lot.

These shoes run a little small in size but they are very comfortable. I contacted Zappos to swap them out. They were extremely helpful and had my new shoes to my house before I could send the other ones back. This is the first time I have ever used Zappos and I was very pleased with their service. They now have a customer for life.

Most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. For me, they ran 1/2 larger than normal. I ordered a 9 and they were too big. I returned them for an 8 1/2 for a much better fit. They immediately sent me the new size before I returned the ones I ordered. Very pleased.

Awesome looking pair of loafers. These shoes look, feel, and simply are amazing! I ordered the tan colored ones and they just blew me away. They really stand out with jeans, but you can wear them with shorts also. They are very comfortable and the leather is quite soft. I strongly recommend these. Just for reference: I'm a 7 in Kenneth Cole, 7.5 in Clarks, 8 Ferragamo, and 7.5 in these… so there you go. You will love them!

Howland Penny - Unbelievably comfortable, but a bit delicate. Leather could use a protectant, as it spots with water. Also fragile around edges, gets scuffed easily. I don't expect my loafers to remain pristine, as I wear them out and outside a lot. Great looking shoe. Feels great, too.

Great shoe, BUT they are a quarter of a size too large for me. This left me in quite a quandary, so I decided to just keep them. Might have been a bad decision, but the aesthetic quality of the shoe was too much to turn down.

The best loafers - Forget the other loafers that are poorly constructed, don't have any arch support, and rub the skin off the back of your heel. These are the most comfortable loafers I've ever owned. They don't have a wear in period and has great arch support. One thing I will mention is that at the very bottom tip (near the toe), there will grow a slight scuff mark due to its contact with the floor.

I ordered these for my fiance... just walking around the house with no socks, he said the leather rubbed one of his toes, so I am sending them back. They are good looking shoes though and I will keep ordering other Cole Haans for him to find the perfect fit!

Very nice shoes - These Cole Haan shoes follow the tradition of great looks, comfort and extraordinary craftsmanship, I get compliments on the shoes wherever I go, they are very comfortable and look great with sport slacks, I got the tan color, the leather is soft, supple and looks great.

Cole Haan awesome - This Cole Haan shoe is so comfortable and stylish. I work in NYC everyday where you need to look your best. Now I know this is isn’t the ideal dress shoe. But in the summer it’s alright even in NYC to dress a little casual. So this shoe fits right in. you can wear this shoe as a dress shoe and certainly with cotton pants or jeans. It’s comfortable so I don’t feel like taking them off first thing when I come home from work. And I get compliments on these shoes all the time.

Cole Haan – I returned the 1st pair because they were too small, but these are perfect.
