Best kick-around loafers I've ever owned - I've been wearing these shoes for about 8+ years. They are great. Comfortable, good-looking and solid. Even though they are showing wear, they still are a great shoe. The leather is dynamite; it will stretch over time, though, if you wear them as hard as I have. I like them so much I had them re-soled about three years ago.

Just like the old days - I've been looking for Weejuns look-alike for some time now. Glad I found these. A quality shoe that looks good and feels good.

With an E to EE foot, I almost have to order all of my shoes, which means I need to have two sizes sent and then send back the one that doesn't fit. For that, Zappos is great. Never a hassle. I ordered a 9.5W and a 10W and the 9.5W was way too small in both length and width. The 10W is perfect on width, but feels just a tiny bit longer. It should be in comparison to the 9.5. I'm a traditional penny loafer kind of person and I have always felt the Cole-Haans have a nice quality look and feel. I recommend them.

Poorly built- Great looking - Bought these shoes in January of 2008. The sole is already coming off of both shoes around the toe. A hole has developed under both toes. The soles are sub-par and poorly attached. I wear these shoes to work on a daily basis and they performed well at first with my business casual wardrobe. Great looks- poor quality. Will buy the pinch penny next and use them only for work.

About Cole Haan
Born more than a century ago at the intersection of form and function, Cole Haan has been innovating ever since founder Trafton Cole started making resoleable shoes during the depression. After being bought by Nike in 1988, Cole Haan began introducing footwear with built-in air chambers, utilizing Nike's cutting edge technology to make everything from women's heels to wingtips more comfortable than they'd ever been. Today, the NYC-based brand takes its inspiration from the streets of New York City, offering a range of classic staples with their signature twist—from outerwear and handbags to heels and weekenders—that can stand up to the rigors of the city and still look good.

Cole Haan Douglas Shoes - I have owned Cole Haan shoes in the past and was looking for a business casual shoe that didn't take as much time to break in and yet, had a classic style that fits in with my wardrobe. These shoes are certainly that and more and I am glad to add them to my collection.

Better Quality from Cole Haan - Since Cole Haan was acquired by Nike, over all quality has apparently slipped somewhat. However, I found this pair of Douglas penny loafers to be an exception. The shoes are well constructed of very nicely finished, quality leather - in a word, handsome. Zappos, as always in my experience, gave great service yet again!

I love the look of this shoe and it is comfortable to wear every day. Unfortunately if you wear them as an everyday work shoe, the quality and durability is lacking. Very poor. Both toes of the leather upper have separated from the mid-sole on the pair I own. On one shoe, the two layers of the sole have even separated as well. I would only recommend getting this shoe if you will only be wearing it occasionally. It won’t hold up to constant wear.

Bought these shoes as a last minute "get ready" purchase because I knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking on a trip in Zurich and Rome. (Had a pair previously) Exceptionally quick service - in fact they came literally at 9AM on a Monday after I had ordered them at 6PM the day before. (Maybe the warehouse is just down the street!)\r\n\r\nNow back from my trip, no discomfort breaking them in, and I have a wonderful pair to slog around shoes.

The width was fine but the length seems a half size shorter than it should be. Overall comfort is only fair.

I have owned this shoe for over 15 years! It ages very nicely and has developed a vintage patina. This shoe can be re-soled by any cobbler or shoe repair store. I think it cost me under $20 to have it done. I had owned these shoes almost 10 years though before having them re-soled. I highly recommend these shoes for comfort, durability, and looks. I have had many compliments on mine.

This is a great shoe. It fits well and is very comfortable after you break them in. Breaking them in can be a bit painful with blisters or rubbing your feet raw in places - I suggest wearing socks while you break them in.

These loafers met every expectation that my husband has of Cole Haan shoes. The leather, the color, the fit were all perfect.

They look great and the quality is great. However, these are taking quite a long time to break in, and are a bit smaller than expected. I'm sure I'll love them once they finally stretch out and flex some.

The soles came off the shoes after a year and a half. Zappos told me to contact the manufacturer. Would not order again.

I've owned similar style Cole Haan loafers, so I was confident these shoes would be nice. The oiled leather makes this shoe care free. Scuffs just disappear. The soles are thin, so they wear out long before the tops. Very high quality.

Disappointed. Longtime Cole Haan customer who owns several pairs of this shoe. These are different sole design and fit smaller than before. Top of toe area has dye imperfection. Unusable shoe. Will try to exchange, but short on time.

I have been wearing this shoe almost daily for 3 years. I've had mine re-soled twice, and I still get compliments. I'm finally investing in a new pair. Very classic and preppy.
