About Cole Haan...

Born more than a century ago at the intersection of form and function, Cole Haan has been innovating ever since founder Trafton Cole started making resoleable shoes during the depression. After being bought by Nike in 1988, Cole Haan began introducing footwear with built-in air chambers, utilizing Nike's cutting edge technology to make everything from women's heels to wingtips more comfortable than they'd ever been. Today, the NYC-based brand takes its inspiration from the streets of New York City, offering a range of classic staples with their signature twist—from outerwear and handbags to heels and weekenders—that can stand up to the rigors of the city and still look good.

I love this shoe. Love it. I have extremely wide feet and very high arches. Specifically, they are wide across the balls of my feet/my toes. A lot of wide shoes are still too narrow. And I am always looking for a sexy, tall heel that comes in a size wide enough to feel comfortable. Cole Haan finally did it! (I know I only gave them 4 stars for comfort...but what heel can you really give a 5 for comfort?!) I bought these and a pair of Stuart Weitzman, both 8.5W in black patent. The Stuart Weitzman pair still felt very narrow. These ones were pretty comfy! After wearing them out a couple times a month, they have stretched out a bit and are a tad large (mostly in length), but that happens with any leather shoe after you've broken them in. They did feel a little tight when I first got them, and I don't think I could have gone 1/2 size down, so I will probably just put a pad in the heel to keep them snug. I'd like to buy them in black non-patent leather, in which case I might try the size 8 and then have them stretched. (I tried to get these ones stretched but the shoe guy said it's not a good idea to stretch patent leather because the vinyl coating might pucker.) If you have wide feet, these are the pumps for you. Now if only they were always in stock in every color! It seems every time I want to buy a pair of the red ones, they are out of stock!

Great heels. Usually can't wear heels this high unless they are wedge, but this pair is very doable. The paler gold matches everything and is almost nude...with a nice festive sparkle. Wore them to a couple of parties, standing in them for hours and even dancing. Never had to take them off!

I'd also recommend: Anyi Lu, Donald Pliner, etc.

Love these shoes in Maple Sugar Patent! They were once described as looking like glass slippers.

Beautiful shoes, although not quite as comfortable as you might hope. Cannot wear them for long periods of time.

I'd also recommend: Kate Spade

I'm in love with the look of these shoes... I found them to be true to size. However, I do have a narrow foot. It was between these shoes and the Corso Como Del both in black patent size 6 1/2. Between the two I liked the look of these better with the platform, but I ended up getting the Corso Como Del. I found the Corso Como Del to be just as comfortable with a padded footbed. The Cole Haan slipped just slightly on the heel when I walked, but the Corso Como Del stayed right in place. Also, the Corso Como Del felt slightly more stable-- no rocking side to side. So if the fit of these are just slightly off for you too, the Corso Como Del is an alternative.

I'd also recommend: corso como
