Excellent shoes. The color and style is exceptional and can be worn perfectly with jeans or a suit. The only issue was that it runs slightly snug and needs to be "broken in."

Bought this pair to replace another pair of Cole Haans. The leather is very supple and stands up well to scuffs. Very comfortable (after the initial break in)...would recommend to anyone.

These shoes are very stylish and for the most comfortable. For the first few wearing\'s the heel on the left shoe gave me blister. I thought it was weird that only the left shoe felt this way. But I would recommend the shoes and the brand to a friend. This was my first purchase of a dress shoe in this price range and have been impressed so far.

These shoes are amazing. Worth every penny. I've never had dress shoes that were this comfortable, and with no break-in period. They seem true to size for me, and they are ridiculously fun to wear. They give a couple inches lift, which isn't good or bad per se, I just hadn't anticipated it.

Fantastic shoe! I have quite a bit of difficulty finding shoes. My feet are wide with the left being a EEE, and I wear orthotics as well. It's very difficult to accommodate these necessities. However, this shoe is great. Very comfortable, is a true wide shoe and they look great. The picture here doesn't do it justice. The shoe is lighter brown, not so red depicted and more of a matte finish. The Cole Haan site has a better image.

I typically have a difficult time finding shoes that fit well out of the box. I measure out to a medium width, but require a slightly wider toe box. These shoes were an exception! From the get go, they fit like a glove and the comfort was outstanding. I was literally in shock at how well they suited my feet...even my girlfriend was surprised by it. She even suggested me looking up the other styles under the Colton platform, and I ended up getting the cap toe and casual plain toe as well! These shoes required no break in whatsoever (the leather's soft and top notch as expected) and the construction's outstanding. They complement my well seasoned Bruno Maglis in my regular rotation.

These are incredible! First day, I wore them 13 hours and they were so comfortable and my feet felt great. The color is so rich and a pleasant change from brown. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable shoes that require little to no breaking in. Have received several compliments on these shoes since I started wearing them. The rubber pads on the sole are helpful in not sliding around as much as with a completely leather sole.

I own a pair of the Cole Haan Air Colton Plain Oxford in brown, and decided to go with the Split Oxford in black. Both shoes are extremely comfortable and the soft leather molds to your foot. Cole Haan makes a great shoe that is also very durable, and these are no exception.

This is my third pair of shoes from Cole Haan. Extremely comfortable - thanks to the Nike Air technology - and of course, stylish. However, the shoe color is a bit darker than shown in pictures. The pair that I received had different shades, so I had to return them to Zappos (nevertheless, thanks for the great customer service).

Really comfortable shoe, but the construction is not good. The nails in the heel are not counter-sunk enough, consequently when I walk on tile or like hard surface I slip. Thought this was a fluke with the first pair so I returned them turns out the second pair has the same issue.

Looks very professional. Beautiful leather. A little stiff on the edges when putting your foot in, but the looks more than compensate for that small inconvenience. Not as comfortable as my Ecco's, but a lot more edgier than my Ecco's too.

After purchasing a pair in brown, I'm now purchasing a pair in black. Despite other reviews to the contrary, there was a definite break in period. The leather is extremely stiff, but very high quality. It wears well once it softens, but it takes sone time. These shoes also hold an incredible shine!

I really love Cole Haan products, and I have these shoes in the black as well. For some reason, these are a little stiffer and probably not as comfortable as my black Coltons. I get compliments on the look though, and sometimes, that's all I care about.

I knew this was a handsome shoe, but the compliments I have received (from attorneys, peers, etc) surprised me. Other reviewers are correct, in that there is a break-in period and the leather is stiff. But overall, a great, comfortable shoe. Much love!
