My Favorite Shoe. I've been wearing Wallabees since 1975. There was a period in the mid-70's when these shoes were very popular on college campuses. For some reason, maybe because their price went up dramatically, people stopped wearing them. I did not. For decades it was hard to find Wallabees. I bought a pair in 1990 at a San Diego shoe store for $30. They were in the bargain bin with the white, patent leather loafers that nobody wanted. I wore these for some years, had them re-soled twice. I was always on the watch for a store that carried Wallabees. Several years ago I found them again in an Oxford Street store in London. I bought three pairs. I'm wearing one pair now. These are the most comfortable shoes in the world. For a long time I suppose I looked like Barney Fife, wearing suede shoes a quarter-century out of style. I'm 53 years old now and have no one to impress. I will continue to wear these shoes and if some young kid laughs at them I can always soothe myself with the thought that I've probably had more women than he has, I make more money than he does, and my feet feel better than his do.
Brands I'd also recommend: This is the only shoe of its kind that I know of.

Jim Brown does not lie... As an acquaintance of the below-mentioned Jim Brown, I can say this: He may be a lot of things, but a liar isn't one of them. There is a picture in Jim's house, buried in the back on an old credenza of Jim when he was 15 years old playing in a local air hockey tournament. It is the ONLY time I've seen Jim in person or in a photograph not wearing those damn shoes! It wouldn't be so bad if that wasn't all he talked about. Mainly, that time in the mid-70s when people thought he was 'with it' was for only about 10 minutes. If you have any open sales positions for this particular shoe, I would hire Jim in a second, but only to sell Wallabes. Mention any other shoe to him and he either passes out or goes into what can only be described as a 'Rain Man' type fit. Don't get me wrong though, I love Wallabes! Five Stars!

A great shoe. Clark Wallabees are the greatest. The first time you put them on is the best feeling your feet will ever have. I think they look great. Some people may say they have an orthopedic look to them, like something an old man would wear, but I must disagree. I'm 20 and find them to be very stylish and they look good with dark jeans. I gave comfort a four, because I don't think the support is the greatest. Also, I have narrow feet and they are a bit wider. I put in an extra insole to help with this problem. I just wish they weren't so expensive. They're something special.

I'm pleased to see that my review was posted, but I have to warn you that the person claiming to be my friend is no one who I've ever heard of. I guess my enthusiasm for the Wallabee my seem odd, but they really are great shoes and I was just giving my opinion. Please take down "Chuck"'s review as it is silly and immature. And the prankster is probably some conniving imp.

As always....great shoes. 23 year old male, purchased december 2000. I did try on some of the cheaper look-alikes, but they didn't do justice. So I bought the real Clarks. $100 seemed expensive, but I tell 'ya, they're worth every penny! These are definitely the best and most comfortable shoes I've had in a long time! These are my primary shoes, and only these shoes go on my feet. Well, when I do finally wear them out, I'll definatly shell out another $100 for a new pair... So don't be fooled! Buy the real Clarks!

Ryan, a young punk. Of the 18 years of my life, I have not owned a more COMFORTIBLE or STYLISH shoe. They're durable and can adapt to pretty much any situation (running or out on the town). Nothing comes remotely close. Thats all I need to say. Try them and prove me wrong.

The best shoes ever! I have the sand suede low tops and one day I decided to dye them dark brown that didnt work out so I put them in a bucket of 3 parts bleach one part water for an hour then let them sit in the sun and rain for a week. I just got done redying them with more diluted dye and they're still in great shape! These things are iron tough and built to last!!!

You Forgot You’re Wearing Shoes. I had the Wallabees for three years before the sole wore out and I wore them almost every day. They are so comfortable you forgot your wearing shoes. Bought some Rockports and I have had Timberland shoes before - both are good but the Wallabees are far better.

simple is better. The most comfortable shoe I have ever had or worn. I'm a young guy and I owed a pair about five years ago and a after years of wear and tear I gave them away but they was still in good condition. After years of searching I found a store and bought a pair. Recently I just bought the all black low cut wallabees and now I'm about to get another pair. I love these shoes. Not many shoes can be casual and stylish.
Brands I'd also recommend: Try the desert trek

Jim Brown's Only Other friend, Chris, in Connecticut. Ah, Jim! His review of these fine shoes brings back so many fond memories. As noted by Jim's other friend, it was kind of tough for the guy after his 10 minutes of being in style evaporated in, I think, 1972. No chicks, no job, tossed out of school, but what the heck, he still had his feet didn't he? He could walk the entire Pacific Crest Trail in his Wallabees, couldn't he? And then the Appalachian? So I went with him, each of us in our Clarks (I liked the Desert Boot, myself), chasing bears, living off the land (and, in one memorable dry stretch in the Mohave Desert, off our boots) while we sought the Tao. I lost Jim somewhere on Mt. Kathadan and assumed he'd been swallowed by a crevasse, but here he is, on the web, still paying homage to his favorite shoe and boasting about getting laid. He could never have done it without these great shoes.
Brands I'd also recommend: None - nothing comparable in comfort or value

First Wallabees, Now Desert Treks. I've been wearing Wallabees Boots for about three years now. No other shoe even compares to their comfort. I first ordered a pair of black suede wallabees over the internet. I overestimated my shoe size and got 11 & a half's instead of the 11's I needed. I never even knew I made a mistake until I shopped for a pair of brown suede wallabees and found that I should have been wearing 11's instead. My brown wallabees are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I can wear them all day, and I never notice them. Two days ago, I bought some sand colored desert treks, and they are already broken in. They feel just as natural as my two year old wallabees. I have never felt deication to a brand name before in my whole life - I would never, for instance, wear a nike or ralph lauren t-shirt - but I would proudly proclaim my allegiance to clarks as the coolest looking, most comfortable shoe on earth.

Easily the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have the dark mustard coloured shoes and they look best when worn with old jeans, bootcut or flared of course. These shoes are worth the asking price. Have to be tried to be believed! Timeless classic.

Yard man shoes my yute The most comfortable shoes ever. I first saw my friend from Capetown, South Africa wearing these things and I thought that they were odd until I found out that it is a big style amongst Jamaicans and West Indians. My Friend from S.A. has every color. I bought a pair and then wore them on a hard surface and it feels like a slipper, it's so comforteble. It feels like I am walking on a pillow or something. I got the black leather high tops. leather because it holds up the best and you can alway polish them up and keep 'em lookin like new. I will soon get every color Wallabees ever made.

My guy is hot in his Wallabees! As another reviewer pointed out: These shoes were commonplace on mid-70s college campuses. I always liked guys with these shoes. Well, I married a guy wearing them. Hmmm... I don't think he wore a pair on our wedding day with his tux, but probably the last time I saw him without them. Too bad they didn't have the black leather ones back then. He's a suede guy. They were hard to find for a long time and he has worn holes in the soles in a few pairs. In early 90s we splurged when ordering through a local dealer having them shipped from England getting several pairs. Now we are running out of that stockpile, but now there is the Web to do on-line ordering. YEAH! They are comfie thus making your hubby be in a happier mood, so I recommend all ladies get their loves at least one pair. Plus they just look HOT! His head might not be the same as the 70s (HA!), but his feet are the same! ;-)

I'm Hooked! I just got my pair today (by the way 1 day free priorty shipping I LOVE THIS STORE!!!) and i'm hooked. I always wanted a pair of Wallabees ever since I heard Wu-Tang talk about them. I bought a pair of bargin brand knockoffs a long while ago in the fake sand suede and I hate them. They're so uncomfortable. When I got my official Clarks today they felt so damn comfortable like I wasn't wearing any shoes at all, or like a slipper. I got the brown leather and they look great they go with everything I have. I love these shoes, I love this shoe store. Next I'm getting the sand suede color.

I Agree - It's odd that these feel so good straight out of the box. The pair I recently purchased felt as good as my older pair as soon as I slipped them on. I hadn't thought of buying another pair until I read the views of the other fanatics on here, and now I'm no better than the rest of you guys. Now, I just need to scheme a way to justify buying another pair. I don't have black yet. Maybe that should be my angle.

Walk In My Wallabees, not! Best shoe yet! Wallabees are the best shoes. My first pair I bought in Europe back in 1978 lasted me for 6 years, believe it or not. When I came to the States, I just could not find these shoes anywhere. I just found a Clarks store here in Texas, and ran into them. WOW! I bought 3 pairs! My wife said I was crazy until she tried on a pair and walked around in them. I then told her you never know a man until you walk in his Wallabees. She then said, "I want a pair." In turn I told her, "I can not help you, darling, they're mine, all mine." I also bought two pairs from Zappos.com, too. free shipping is a good deal. Darn, I have enough Wallabees for a lifetime now.
