I got the brown oily color option because they were out of regular brown in my size and when I opened them I was glad for it. Relative to the style, there were no surprises with this boot, the design, as well as the shade and texture of the leather is very cool, weathered enough to look good but not overdone. The size recommendation of other reviewers is good: aim smaller than your usual size. While some other reviewers suggested a full size smaller, I went with a half size smaller and they're pretty much perfect. The fit was questionable at first. I have a high instep and when I first donned these brothel creepers I thought I would have to send them right back as they were so snug on top. So the moment of truth was whether to bail and return or to walk off the carpeted surface and hope they wear in. I opted for #2 and wore them to work wear I can put some miles on traversing the labyrinthine halls of the GPO; it was there they started to chafe my heels. I yet persevered, with thicker socks and by day three of wear they felt like slippers. The leather is very supple and contours nicely to my feet now. I can't speak as yet to premature wear of the sole; more than one reviewer claimed 3 months or so of steady wear resulted in noticeable loss of tread. I don't suspect it'll be an issue for me, but even if this is the case I really like the style of these boots and, at this price point, would buy them just the same. I do wish the heel was about .1875" shorter but that'd be more for mister Clark than a caveat for other shoppers.

Great boots. Fit well and good look to go with casual pants. Made very well. Ordering a black pair to go with my brown.

First pair of Clarks I\'ve owned. I have wide flat feet and it\'s hard to find a comfortable, stylish work shoe. The fit on these is superb. Excellent fit and no break-in period. Classic shoe. Great service from Zappos. No doubt I\'ll be buying this brand, probably this same shoe but in a different color, next time I purchase footwear.

These boots did not wear well. The heel is worn out in 3 months; the laces are the most tangly strings I have ever seen. Some nights I have a very difficult time untying them. Had to buy Dr. Scholl's to stretch the use past 1 month.

Shoes feel great and are true to size; however, were not really true to color. Future buyers should know that the online color is much darker than reality. The other issue I have is that after only 3 weeks of daily wear, the tread on the sole is already almost flat.

The Clark Roar Boot is very well made in terms of construction. It has plenty of toe room and the arch support is solid and the entire sole has a nice give to it. It has a nice brushed leather surface to the entire body of the boot. I might also add that the service of Zappos is excellent and amazingly fast in terms of time of delivery.

Really like this boot. This is a very comfortable boot, like the look and is great for all the walking I do in my job. The only problem I have is that the sole is starting to separate from the shoe. Possibly a one time defect.

Good boot, great look - These boots are very comfortable, right out of the box. I spend my day between working in a hospital and going to school, which keeps me on my feet a lot. Not enough ankle support or cushion to be used as a work boot, but for a long, casual day on your feet they're just about perfect.
