I have wide feet, and can almost never find nice shoes that fit properly. I bought these in wide and they are so comfortable that even after wearing them for a long day on my feet I forgot was wearing nice shoes. I think they're a little long - I wear a 7/7.5 and these 7's seem long, but Zappos was out of 6.5W when I bought these. Highly recommend, especially if your feet are the widest at the toes.

This pair of Clarks shoes exceeded my expectations! I was not a fan of flats, but decided I needed to give my feet a break from wearing heels everyday at work. The Chateau State II definitely enhances the image of flats. It has a nice toe box, a little bit of a heel, and most importantly, they are comfortable! Thanks Zappos for delivering another great product!

High comfort for me, someone who cannot wear heels. I usually resort to very casual shoes and needed something dressier. These are not quite as stylish as I'd would like but wearable with pants or skirts right out of the box.

I've been a Clarks fan for years -- love them for classic style, comfort and durability. I was sadly disappointed with this shoe. The toe box seemed out of proportion with the rest of the shoe, and they looked and felt cheap. I'm unsure if this is because they are of the "Clarks Artisan" mark, or what, but these were not at all worth the pricetag. $20 at Payless, in my opinion.

I've been looking for a black flat that provides moderate support while still looking nice. I know flats aren't known for their support, but the Clarks' foam cushioned footbed really helps. I tried a couple of shoes that were slightly more stylish, but they did not fit as well. However, I do think the snake printed vamp across the toe box sets this shoe apart from a plain flat. In addition, the fact that it goes diagonally seems to make the foot look better. I also like the squared off round toe, again, something a little different from a plain round toe. I've only worn this shoe around the house, but I could tell immediately it was the one for me.
