Pros: as waterproof as promised, comfy straps, narrow body conceals how much you're actually carrying, no frivolous straps, high quality construction. Cons: too tall for short people (I'm 5'3"), the chest strap is awkwardly placed for ladies, the outer pockets don't close completely when full, you can feel bulky items against your back. Overall though, I love this bag, especially the divided laptop compartment. Fits my Macbook Pro 15" perfectly and stays dry on my commute.

Great backpack! Very sleek, skinny and long form factor. The back plate is not as ridged as it looks. Has more separate pockets than most bags. Only wish would be that the front flap would have a clasp.

I chose the Chrome Soyuz bag because I have the Niko camera bag and I'm very pleased with it. I wanted a laptop pack with a few different pockets and sleeves and a large enough main compartment to hold clothes for a night or two. My first impression was that this bag would probably survive a high speed motorcycle accident. Every inch of this thing feels like it could take a bullet. Definitely a very sturdy bag. Unfortunately, when I started to pack it with stuff I realized that it might not have the capacity I was hoping for. It has the pockets and sleeves I want, but they're not gusseted, so they can't really hold much of anything with more than 2 dimensions. There's a sleeve that's perfectly sized for an iPad, which is cool. On top of that there's a couple of calculator sleeves and a place to put two pens or one marker. All of this sits inside the main-front pouch, but if you have your iPad, both of your calculators, and your marker, forget about putting anything else in that area. Maybe a single-subject notebook. On the front of the main-front pouch there's a couple of bonus pouches. I thought these would be perfect for a laptop brick and another similarly sized item, but they're kind of wedge shaped. As a matter of fact, if you put a couple of wedge-shaped items in there, the main-front punch closure wouldn't reach the hook-and-loop material on the fronts of the bonus pouches. Oh, down at the bottom there's a waterproof zipper pouch that will hold up to five #10 envelopes. As for the main compartment, you could probably keep a large fish alive in there for a while. It's fully lined with thick tarpaulin and it appears to be insanely protective. It also gets bigger toward the bottom, so it has a deceptively large capacity. All-in-all, the Soyuz sort of feels like it has more material than space. Layers and layers of material. Still, I'm probably going to keep it because it is very well-built and it looks very, very cool.

I bought this backpack at Christmas and it lasted me for a while. It did look good while I had it, but it broke after 9 months and now Chrome does not provide customer service because it was past 30 days. I thought for the cost of the backpack that it would be more durable.

I'd also recommend: Dakine
