I was looking for a bag that could haul all of my school things, canteens, gym clothes, food for the day, and be comfortable for biking back and forth across town (45 minute ride to school) and be equipped to handle the elements and various uses as a sturdy day bag. This is it for me. I did a lot of looking, and I've seen a lot of bags, and this pack has met all of my expectations and needs. Every morning I pack it full of books, a huge lunch sack, a smoothie, a thermos, a large canteen, binders, notebooks, and calculator and pens and headphones, an extra sweater - anything basically. Then I velcro up the top and it compacts nicely. When it's really full, it is still more compact than you might think. Then I bike with it, and it hugs my body and is very comfortable on my shoulders, chest, back, etc. Its such a great back! All the buckles are steel and synch and unhook easily. Overall, the quality is unsurpassed, and it's stylish too. People dig it. I seriously recommend it - so worth the money for something that serves its purpose and is built to last.

Oh man. I love this bag. It's beautifully crafted, very comfortable to wear and super stylish. It fits a ton of stuff and has lots of compartments if you need/want to keep things separated. I wasn't sure if I wanted this one or one of the bigger sizes, but I am so glad I chose the pawn. I am 5'8" 125 lbs and this bag fills my whole back. Even stuffed to the brim, though, it doesn't feel heavy and I can ride my bike without the rolltop hitting the back of my head/pressing against my neck. Amazing.

Perfect! I was really concerned that this bag would be too small, but since I'm 5'2, I think the middle or large size would have swallowed me whole! as usual, Zappos was very fast in delivery, shipping overnight at no extra cost. this bad will last years and is a really great investment, even for non-bikers.
Brands I'd also recommend: doc marten, frye

This is a pretty good bag. It's definitely heavy duty and waterproof. It actually doesn't quite fit as much as I would have hope. There are quite a few compartments and having something in one compartment definitely reduces what you can fit into others. Getting things in and out of the bag can be a little cumbersome. Also a waist strap with some pockets would be nice. Overall though this is a great bag that does have decent holding capacity and is durable and waterproof.

About Chrome
Before long, people were knocking on their door. Word was out that Chrome was making the best messenger bags around. What started out of necessity became a business with an ethic: build functional products that people can rely on and do it well.
Eventually they moved to San Francisco, a city with a huge urban cycling scene. The business grew. Bags were joined by clothes, gear and shoes. Their products showed up from Brooklyn to Berlin to Tokyo. For Chrome, what matters today is what mattered in the garage - building products that work, and standing behind everything they make.
