So, so good. Have only worn them about ten times. They seem to be waterproof as described. Its comfortable as a work boot can be. Will be wearing it more often during the winter.
Brands I'd also recommend: Red Wing

Overall I really like these boots. They are pretty light thanks to the composite toe. They are not insulated but seem fine from a cold standpoint. I spent several hours shoveling 15" of snow the other day in 0 degree weather and my feet never got wet or cold. I was sure my feet would get wet but they never did. They definitely run large. Every other shoeboot I own is a 13. I had to send the 13 back and get a 12 which fits fine. They are pretty comfortable but like any boot they can bind slightly at the top. They are a nice looking boot. The shoe laces aren't great but I can always replace them if they annoy me too much. The Zappos experience was very good and the boots arrived faster than predicted and I live in a fairly remote area. Overall I'm pretty happy with these and would buy them again.

These boots fit great and are very comfortable. They took a week or 2 to soften up but after that they were a night and day difference from my previous Timberlands. The composite toe makes them very lightweight and eliminates the fatigue a steel toe has.

I will buy nothing but Chippewa boots since I got my first pair. My wife gave me a pair of these last summer, they are lightweight and very comfortable. You know you have a great pair of boots when you put them on in the morning and never think about them all day until you take them off in the evening. I have 5 pairs of Chippewa boots including the first pair (over 10 ten years old and still waterproof). I've got Chippewa snake boots, 8" boots and this 6" boot. I can't throw any of them them away because I can't wear a pair out. I'm a surveyor, tree farmer and hunter and wear a pair almost every day through swamps, creeks, clear cuts, construction sites and whatever. For 30 years I tried about every other brands but never think of buying anything else since that first pair. Well worth the money.

These shoes are great. I have had them in mud and water ankle deep. They are very comfortable. I would highly recommend them. I would also like to say that Zappos is a great company to do business with.

About Chippewa
Initially, Chippewa started with only logger boots in its product line. Constructed of double and triple leather midsoles and hand-plugged outsole spikes, the logger boots were designed to assist loggers as they rolled the logs down the rivers to the mills. Based on that state-of-the-art boot, Chippewa gained a reputation for quality and began expanding the product line to include more boot categories.
The past century has brought significant changes in the need for quality outdoor work and sport footwear. Chippewa Boots continues to add new products to its inventory to meet the needs of its loyal following. As part of the Justin Brands, Inc. family, quality and craftsmanship continue to be the leading guides in its development, just as it has been for the last 100 years. Rugged as the land they walk, Chippewa. Live the Spirit.

This was a first. My husband actually said. They were a little too big. He wears a 13 6E. I ordered the 13 4E because that was as wide as they came. with thick socks and his insole he did claim they were a perfect fit. From a woman's perspective these are a handsome boot.

I wanted to like this boot because it came in extra-wide. I wear a size 11.5 4E sneaker, so it's hard for me to find boots that are comfortable. Well, my search continues. For the most part, this shoe is wide. But the toe box is not wide enough for me. My big and little toes are squeezed. Probably by the composite toe insert. I would like to try the 55160 model that does not have the safety toe, but Zappos does not carry it in the extra-wide width. Disappointing. I am returning the shoe to Zappos for a refund.

I liked these boots. They fit nicely, and were comfortable out of the box. They were not waterproof. I stepped in a puddle and when the water got up to the stitching that attaches upper water came in. I also think I felt water in through the sole. I am very disappointed in the waterproof failure.

So I have tried 5 different brands of safety toe boots so far and they all fit the same. The toe box hurts my foot. This one is just ever so slightly roomier, but still just won't do it.
Brands I'd also recommend: so far all safety toe boots are the same, painful
