Super Skates & Excellent Service - I couldn't have been any happier, I received my skates the next day and they were perfect. The person that helped me order my skates was fantastic.

I love my skates! Just got my skates overnight and I have hardwood floors, so I decided to test them out after not roller-skating since childhood. I'm 36. They are comfortable, smooth, and I can't wait to hit the pavement. I love the fit and comfort. Hope I don't break my neck!

Best Skates On The Block - These skates are awesome! Please follow the suggested sizing instructions by Zappos staff, and you will be ready to roll right out of the box. Excellent for outdoor skating, fast on the moves, and as usual Zappos delivered them to me the next day after ordering them!
Brands I'd also recommend: Sketcher rollerskate shoes

THUMBS DOWN - These are really bad skates. I bought them for cheap roller derby try outs as I had no speed skates, only outdoor. The toe box is incredibly tight and my feet are not wide so you may consider ordering a half size down instead of a whole size like they suggest. But I would not recommend these for any serious or potentially serious skater. The toe stop is ENORMOUS and irremovable. Also the bearing was dented when I got them in the new unopened condition. The wheels are semi ok- but they are even slippery on the rink surface. All in all I suppose you get what you pay for. Thumbs down.
Brands I'd also recommend: Riedell Rock Flames are a much better starter skate. I learned the hard way.

A good beginning skate - These skates are comfortable and good for beginning to skate, but the fixed toe stop is a problem once you become a better skater. A good starter pair because they're much more comfortable than rentals, but if you're using them for roller derby, spend a little more and get a pair with an adjustable toe stop.

Great skates and great price. Only 1 complaint - didn't like the toe stop but replaced it and perfectly happy now. Just a sizing tip I wear 8-8 1/2 tennis shoe - I wear a size 7 in these skates. These are men's sizes. Highly reccomended skate.

Skates For Alien Feet - Boot was true to U.S. men's shoe size in length, perhaps a little narrow for a D width. The problem is the toe box is exceptionally low and painfully uncomfortable (and unusable) for someone with average feet. On the good side, the trucks and wheels seemed fine given the price of the skate.

Bad choice for a good skate - If you are looking for a really good speed skate, don't buy these! They are VERY basic. The wheels are plastic and the skate itself it very uncomfortable. I wore them once and had bruises on the outside of my foot. I guess the skate is made too narrow. They also don't move well at all. I almost fell a few times because the wheels didn't move properly.

The skates I wear to work - The skates I ordered said they would be here within 5 to 8 business days and they were here the next afternoon. I wear them to work (SONIC) everyday. They are comfortable and good looking all at the same time.

If I knew then what I know now... These skates are NOT appropriate for roller derby! Please do not purchase these if you plan on trying out for a roller derby league. Invest in a nice pair of Reidell skates. The Chicago boots are cheap vinyl; they'll hurt your feet and fall apart quickly. The wheels are very hard and slippery; the plate is weak and will not stand up to the demands of actual speed skating and roller derby. Zappos has amazing service, so go buy some shoes and don't waste your money on these awful skates.
Brands I'd also recommend: Reidell, Radar, Hyper, Vanilla, Sure Grip, Bont

Love these skates - These skates are great and I am 13 years old and these are my first pair of skates and they were great. I learned how to skate better than I did when I was on rental skates. They have great axles for turning and free style skates.

This is the second time I have purchased these skates. I have six children and this is by far the best pair of inexpensive skates. The kids change wheels and laces all the time and nothing has failed. Great skate!

Super stoked about how quickly these were mailed to me! I had 5 day shipping, and they changed it to 2 days at no extra charge. These skates are great. I am a beginner, and 37, but loving them. They glide very nicely, and are a bit snug. Very happy!

I bought two pairs of skates, one pair for my 10 year old son and a pair for my 9 year old daughter. The sizes were close to actual size and they fit perfect. The quality of the skate is great. You can't beat the price because when they grow out of them in 6 months I can replace them. They use them indoors only so I don't know how they would wear with outdoor use. Overall, great skate for a 9-10 year old.
