This Waffle Iron is FANTASTIC! We love waffles and have been making them on old style waffle makers for years. We’d looked around for months, trying to find something newer that was NOT a Belgian waffle maker. After doing a lot of searching, and reading numerous reviews, we settled on the Chef’s Choice 840, and we are glad we did. I can’t tell you why, but they are the best tasting waffles we’ve ever made! Perhaps it’s because they can be cooked any way one desires, perhaps it’s the smaller imprints (not as deep as normal waffles). In any case, we highly recommend this iron if you’re looking for GREAT tasting "traditional" style waffles. In addition to every other good quality, this iron seems to cook waffles very quickly. We’ve encountered no problems at all with the controls. Once one learns how it works, it’s smooth sailing with this waffle iron!

I originally planned to use this together with my old waffle iron in order to keep up production with demand at the breakfast table and was surprised to note that this waffle iron is much faster than expected and no need for the old one. You can't use too much grease or it will run off in the back when open. I enjoy it and would recommend it.

I found the site very easy to use. My item came within a week. My only disappointment was my own choice. I maybe should have purchase the Belgian type as the waffles are still not exactly what I was looking for.

I am a long time waffle baker; well over 30 years now. This waffle iron is the best I've ever used, love it! The five hearts are so cute, the texture of the waffles are wonderful as well. I can't say enough good about both the Five of Hearts waffle maker, but Zappos was so easy to work with.

I love the cute five hearts waffles, and it makes waffles very fast. The only complaint was from my husband who thought the waffles were too flat; our former waffle maker was the Belgian type. My waffle maker arrived without instruction booklet and warranty information. When I call customer service about the missing booklet, they sent me a new waffle make and had me return the one just received. Kudos to customer service.

Purchased for my parents. Unit is lightweight, easy to store (rated highly by Cook's Illustrated). Not to mention, makes terrific waffles. They love it.

Waffle irons are a necessity in our household. When my (now) wife went away to graduate school, she packed one that I had given her, and she used it constantly. Twenty-six years and two kids later, it was time for me to upgrade her grungy Black and Decker. The features I thought most significant were the rapid rate of producing waffles, the audible 'done' alarm and the ability to vary the color & texture. All these things have proven a big success, to the point that my wife has cleaned up the old iron for our college-bound oldest son. The only possible negative is that my wife pointed out that the (plastic) clip used to close the iron may break with repeated use, but I'll cross that bridge when and if it happens, so personally, I'm unconcerned and am quite pleased with the design and quality.

As always I was pleasantly surprised when shortly after putting in my order for the Chef's Choice Waffle Pro it was on my front porch. Great service, Zappos! We were anxious to try it out and were not disappointed. We did make a change on the amount of batter we put in and upped it to a little under one half cup. Love the features of the appliance and are now enjoying wonderful waffles.
