Different, first of all I didn't realize that they were a dark brown. Yes, dark brown rubber soles and dark brown nylon webbing with the red detail as well. At first I was unsure but they're growing on me and I think I will like the color. They of course are the same in construction as my last pair which are the most comfortable and supportive sandal I've experienced. Size wise though I ordered 9 but I wear 9.5 and these do the trick though if I wasn't strapped in a 10 would be necessary as I also had delivered a Chaco flip flop at 9 and it was too small.

I have had my Chacos and worn them almost every spring through fall day for over 8 years. I'm not a guide, I have put them through their paces. I can't imagine a summer without Chacos. The arch support is still strong, uppers and foot-bed look great(unlike Tivas that a break down after a season), but the tread is gone. Time for new pair this year. Going with the Z/1 since I flattened out toe loop on my last pair (caused one sleepy toe).

This really is a superior, albeit deceptively simple, product: well designed for comfort, support, durability, ease of putting on and taking off, scud resistance, ease of cleaning, and of course appearance. The excellent arch support and the availability of a wide version (which I need) are huge pluses; I down rate style to four stars only because Zappos doesn't offer the 'wide' sizes except in plain black, even though Chacos makes them in other styles. The initial strap adjustment takes some time as some have noted, but the result is more precise a fit than I have had with any other sandal; they do fine for me for light bicycling and hiking, which I could never say before about a sandal.

Big, bulky and heavy (1 lb each!). Extremely overpriced considering they are two slabs of rubber and straps made in China. Do not stay on your feet as well as Tevas, not even close.

I think they're the best sandal that I have ever worn. The pair these are replacing are 8 years old, and still not in that bad of shape. Just needed a pair that the straps aren't so frayed out. It was messing with the Z tan.

Had tried on and walked around in some women's Chacos and they really didn't work for me. Was reluctant after that and had heard from many others that Chacos require a lot of breaking in. With this pair, I found that to be absolutely not the case. These sandals are amazing. They fit my feet perfectly and didn't require even a minute's worth of breaking in. Well worth the money spent after putting it off for years.

People rave about these shoes, but every time I try them, I find them uncomfortable. The "luv seat" technology is not made for every foot type. I have plantar fasciitis, and lower arches. They do not work for me.

The new Yampa sole is lighter, but the fit and firm support are same as ever. From May to September these are my footwear, anytime I don't need a coat and tie.

Got these for my husband. I have the womens Chaco z strap as well. These are a slightly heavier than the other style. Still a great shoe, great quality. We love the customizable straps. Great for fly fishing, watersports and general summer use.

Custom adjustments make for a great fit. Excellent water shoe as well as general outdoors use. Felt great right out of the box. And as always amazing delivery speed from Zappos.

Mainly, I am reviewing Zappos' service. I would rate it 20 stars. I probably will not shop elsewhere again, even at brick and mortar stores. They sell the best quality shoes, this is what I have been told by friends and therapists after seeing the brands I have bought here. The deliver is extremely fast, the price much better, and how can you beat their guarantee? I need good shoes and I have done a lot of research online and Zappos is now my only footwear resource.
Brands I'd also recommend: this is my first purchase, I do not know

Earlier this summer I ordered Chaco:Z/1 Vibram Yampa sandals from Zappos. As I live rurally 55 miles north of Green Bay WI. I saved time and driving expense by shopping at Zappos. I was able to find the sandals that fit my need. Wider selection, time and gas saving, free next day delivery, the experience was awesome.

My son loves these shoes. Which have a way heavier sole than his previous brand. My husband commented they could be verging on being too heavy but my son did not mind. They seem to be very well made.

Barefoot or socks - either way works for me. I just tighten up the strap a little for barefoot wear (I have a mark on the strap for with / without socks). Yampa is the sole for me. Lighter than Unaweep, and just as rugged. I do the Z1, as I don't like things between my toes. Great 3-season sandal.

This is my second pair of Z/1 Yampa sandals. I winter in Hawaii and they are the only sandal I wear for 5 months. They are super comfortable and great for long walks.

These are an excellent fit - though less snug than the Z2 style with its toe strap- and easy to combine with socks. To get across rougher terrain (steep slopes, broken ground) count on needing to snug the straps up to keep your feet secure.

I was looking for a quick-drying sandal with good support for use on the beach. When my Z/1 Vibram Yampa's arrived, I loved the both the look and the infinitely adjustable straps. However, after wearing them around the house for a few hours, I reluctantly returned them to Zappos. I had 2 problems with these shoes: 1) The bare nylon straps chafed my feet. Even with the straps loose, they left visible marks on my feet when the shoes were removed. 2) The arch support is too high. I have over-pronation and normally like arch support, but this was too much of a good thing. I also tried the Z/1 Unaweep. The Unaweep and Yampa both fit identically; the only difference was the more substantial and heavier sole of the Unaweep. I am now trying the Teva Toachi 2, which feels much more comfortable.
