More arch support than a regular flip, more foot freedom than the regular Chaco's, it is a perfect blend between the two. I don't walk for any distance in a flip because they are too unstable but this has the adjustable strap across the arch that keeps it securely on my foot. Extremely comfortable and very stylish for what it is.

The straps are so tight I cannot wear these. I love Chacos, but the inner straps are super tight and don't really adjust. I don't have large feet. I'm not overweight. I think this is a design error.

Unbeknownst to me, I bought my first pair of original style Hipthongs at the exact point in time that the original was discontinued in favor of this new Hipthong Two. So when I came back to write a 5 star review of the product I had just purchased I posted it here not realizing this was a different product. I only discovered what was going because I ordered a second pair and when they arrived they were a differently constructed shoe so I set out to research and found that the originals were discontinued and had even disappeared from the Zappos website entirely. I cannot wear the Two because instead of the 360 degree adjustment of the original hipthong this has elastic, non-adjustable straps across the arch which are uncomfortable for my foot. I returned that pair and scoured the internet to acquire a couple more pairs of the discontinued original. Maybe popular demand will bring back the original version?! Without the full adjustability, these are just not special (or wearable at all for me). I apologize for posting my earlier review to the wrong product, unfortunately I did not see a way to delete or comment directly to that posting.

I wanted a flip flop that felt sturdy and this is it. Granted, the straps keep it tight enough on your foot that there's not really any flipping or flopping, if you're into that sort of thing. The straps that go between your toes are pretty loose on my foot and are not adjustable. The criss cross straps are adjustable and keep the sandal securely on your foot. It does take a little getting used to. I did initially buy the men's version because the straps are a little wider and I preferred the way they look. But the men's sizes were too wide for a female foot. Overall, I love these sandals.

I have the Chaco shoes I purchased last fall and love them. I have arch problems and they work for me. So I decided to try the sandal for the summer. I liked the ideal of the strap going through the toes so the strap wouldn't be too tight around my toe. But the straps are too tight on top of the foot. Too bad because the arch is great support. I had to return them.

I am so disappointed with this shoe! I have been wearing Chaco sandals for a long time and this style is the one I usually buy because it fits and feels the best to me. However, they seem to have changed the straps. I can't adjust the straps to loosen them across the foot and they are a bit too tight. I don't know why they did this but I hope they change them back! I am returning this pair! This is so disappointing as these are usually my go to shoes in the summer because I have plantar fascia and very few sandals have the kind of arch support that I need. Chaco usually is the best sandal for me but these just don't work. Chaco. Please change these back to how they used to be! The straps need to be adjustable!

Chaco! What have you done? One of the best features of Chacos is that the straps can be pulled through the footbed to accommodate different sizes/shapes of feet. The straps on this sandal don't move! Why, why, why lose such a wonderful feature? These are going back.

I got these based on the reviews, I have very narrow skinny feet and it's hard to find shoes, especially flip-flops, that are snug and not too loose. I really like these for that reason, I can pull the straps as tight as I need to to keep them on my feet.

Returned this shoe as I found the footbed to be too hard for my severe bunions. I usually wear an 8.5 and the size 9 fit fine. Loved the arch support and heel cup but again, the footbed was not soft enough for me. Also, I have narrower feet and I was able to adjust the fit. If you have wider feet, I think these would be too tight! Loved the style so I am disappointed to need to return them.

I just received these (and two other styles) and I really liked them. Unfortunately they are a tad too narrow in the forefoot. I have a bit of a bunion forming, and I think that this is why. That being said, I don't normally have width issues. Other than this issue, the arch feels great and the straps gave me a custom fit. I am exchanging for unaweeps in wide.

I love these shoes, arch is great. I do wish they came in 10 1/2 though, but they do work great. I will be getting more!

Sadly, I am returning these. I had my first pair of Chaco Hipthongs for three years. I put thousands of miles on them. Last week the bottom cracked in two. I had heard that the newer version wasn't the same as the old, but I loved my first pair and decided to take a chance on these. Although they look very similar, the new version has stretch fabric for the straps and the straps no longer go through the footbed for adjustability. These two features make the shoe both too tight and too flip-floppy for me.

Chaco has redesigned the Hipthong (Hipthong two) and not for the better. The bigger webbing and thong part of the sandal was never adjustable, but the part that criss-crosses over your foot was. The webbing used to slide thru the footbed to be able to adjust the straps. They got rid of that feature on the hipthong two and replaced the crisscross straps with elastic. Having narrow feet the shoes no longer fit well and are too stretchy and flip flop like feeling. Boo, Chaco, you ruined a good thing.
