These are a soft leather boot with lots of room in the steel toe. My main concern was to have a safety boot that is easy to walk in and these are it. They have a rounded heel and rocker sole for easy walking. Great for my many trips around the job site.

Recomended! Have only worn these around the house so far. Feel more comfortable and easier to walk in than the other pair of Cat boots I bought. Definately have the "hiker" feel to them rather than "big heavy work boot" feel. I take 1 size smaller in work boots by rule so I ordered accordingly. Cannot be beat for this price.

Love this boots, this would be the 2nd Caterpillar boots I've own. Really comfortable, lightweight and easy to walk with. Wore em' to work as soon as I received it (12hours of long work) didn't feel like a new boot that needs to be broken in. Great product!

They are a great work shoe! The soles should be a little more low profile. My ankles are a little weak from sprains in my life and they do turn at times on rough terrain. I must lace them tight to have better ankle support. Probably best on smooth surfaces.

Wish They Had My Size, But Still Works For Me - My one disappointment with this shoe is that in my size, it only came in "wide." I never order wide, as my foot is thin, and "regular" always fits perfectly. I ordered anyway because I needed a pair of steel-toes and like CATs. They are just a little loose as wides, but I wear them every day and if Zappos ever gets them in my size and not wide, I may get them again. I've only had them for about two weeks now, but so far they're holding up great. I mark them as "true to width" because I figure they are what wides feel like, as again, I have no personal experience buying wides for myself.

Buy It! I really like this boot. I have really flat feet and this shoe is really easy on them. Did seem to run about 1/2 size too large. (I got the wide one)

Soft top, hard bottom - This is a great looking, great fitting shoe. The first 3 or 4 days they felt great, then my feet started to hurt. The top leather part of the shoe is soft and supple. The sole on the other hand is very hard making 9 hour shifts not so much fun. I think the sole will last a long, long time but if they had made it softer this would be the perfect shoe. If you buy this shoe and are on your feet a lot buy the best, softest insert you can find.

First Steel Toed Love - Had a pair of these for 2 years now. They feel like the day I got them, just great. Have held up just fine, but steel toe's are starting to show, time for a new pair! Buy 'em!

Sole wore out in 4 months - These are by far the most comfortable work boot I have ever had! But I can't afford to buy new work boots every 4 or 5 months. I bought the brown ones to switch off with the black ones I purchased 4 months ago and am glad that I noticed the bottoms worn out on the black ones before I wore the other (brown) ones to work! Think I might have to return these!! So sad too cause like I said they are by far the most comfy work shoes I have ever had. I am standing on ladders for at least 4-5 hours a day and standing the other 2-3 hours and my feet have never hurt once.

Who makes these shoes? I keep buying the Caterpillar brand and haven't thrown a pair away. First was the Active Alaska. They fit me so well and lasted forever. I keep cleaning them up and using them for the muddy hikes. Lots of great hikes in those shoes. Now the Hydraulic seems to have all the same comfort in a steel toe. These are now my dress steel toes,I like them a lot.

Better Safe Than Sorry - If you are buying these boots, it’s because you need them. This purchase is an investment in your safety and comfort. I've bought my husband 4 different pair because the inner lining on the boot does wear out after months of constant wear. The boot itself could outlast your great grandchildren...

I have been wearing these boots since I got them about 6 weeks ago. I work 12 hour shifts on painted concrete floors, with oil on top.These boots have great traction, and are pretty comfortable.
