Not Bad - The shoe is mostly comfortable, the heel is not too high for dancing. I got them in tan and it isn't a pretty color (the black was unavailable when I needed them) so I recommend getting them in black if possible. I gave only three stars for look because of the paperbag-like color and average appearance when worn, and only 4 stars for comfort because the straps are a bit uncomfortable.

While the height and the sole of the shoe are perfect, they're a little too small and narrow to give me the comfort I was looking for. I've put gel padding under the ball of my foot, and that seems to help, but within the next few months I'll have to look to buy new shoes.

Not comfortable - I can only wear this shoe for one or two dances and I have to change. They are too small and my toes are is crushed.

Good shoes - I dance salsa and these shoes have been good to me. They are comfortable and the height is just perfect (though it is the standard on dancing shoes anyway). I bought wide due to the other reviews - but not sure I needed it. Anyway, they are comfortable and I have danced HOURS on these shoes without any problem.

Capezio X-Strap Pump - 2.5" Wow, these shoes will change my life. They are gorgeous and comfortable. I practiced tango with my husband in our dining room and they feel like perfect dancing shoes (stay snugly on my feet, do not pinch or cut anywhere)... and so much more stylish than my old dancing shoes. The true test will come on the dance floor but I have high hopes. I am typically a 5.5W and this is what I ordered - it's like they were made for me.

Brands I'd also recommend: Other Capezio styles 2.5.

Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father’s footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio’s popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.

The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.

Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker® and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

These shoes are the most comfortable I have worn for dancing when I want to dress up for an evening. I have other dance shoes for lessons, but they are kind of chunky looking. An evening on the dance floor wearing these while waltzing and swing dancing never gives my feet any problems. They feel better than my other dress dance shoes. They are my second pair of this style that I have purchased. I once loaned them to a girlfriend one evening and she noticed immediately how good they felt and she wants to buy herself a pair also. The style gives a very slimming look to the leg and the straps make them secure. The sizing is very true to my other shoe purchases. I recommend these!

Just to get used to these shoes I wore them all day at work and they felt just great. The first time I went dancing in them they made big blisters on the side of the big toes. To be fair I must tell you that when we went dancing I did not wear hose; I won't do that again. I really think not wearing hosiery was my mistake. I'll give a new review after I go dancing in them again. To be fair I will rate them a little higher for that reason.

The "Wide" must be a C width. I require a true D, and had to return the shoe. This is a dancing shoe, and the leather is a bit different from what one normally sees in a street shoe; it has a duller, smoother quality that some might find off-putting, though it didn't bother me. The style is flattering to the feet, and would go with dresses/skirts and pants equally well.

Width didn't seem wide and the heel is plastic not rubber. Cute shoe, but not sure it should be a dancing shoe.

Nice shoe. But what really impressed me was Zappos' customer service. Got someone on the phone immediately at 11pm, processed my return with no hassles and I got the replacement in 2 days. Awesome! Made a believer out of me. Now on to more shopping.
